New Video

There is a new video on CP's website, the link being right at the top of the page, asking "What's the buzz about Cedar Point's coasters?" Right now there's a girl explaining a ride on TTD. I think it would be cool to eventually see the video rotate to include other people talking about other rides. Anyhoo, just a head's up for people to check it out.

I just clicked it and it had a Millenium Force video. Maybe they are changing them.

The only one I got was TTD, but I was expecting a bit more spontainaity, that was way too scripted and over-dramatized....I wonder if she got a say in any of it, or if whoever did it said, "just read the card"....nice idea though, and I agree that I hope they do more rides...

<edit> I posted before walt put his up, I much more liked the MF one, that's more what I would like, even if they told the guy to do that, at least it looked better to me. The "Millie/Maggie" one is pretty funny, and good cuts from one coaster to the other so that the tracks blend into each other.

LOL, the videos are really funny. The actors remind me of a few enthusiasts I know ;-) I wonder if they will air any of these on television?

I guess when I refreshed I got the same video over again. I do like the other two (Video 1 and Video 3) better than the Dragster video, but they're all pretty cool.

When I watched those people they make me look normal. Hard to do. Is there a way to download these for you don't have to wait for them to load every time I want to see them?

LOL he said Millie a few too many times.
Okay, now they've got me scratching my head...

In the Dragster video, how the **** did they get that one shot?

--Dave Althoff, Jr.

I believe that shot was done during the Discovery channel shoot with a camera that could rotate around 360 degrees, so rotating it at just the right time, in the opposite direction. would make it seem that the train is circling around the camera, and that the camera was "stationary".

If you're talking about the spiral one, I was wondering the same.
The one with the twist and the train twisting around the camera?

I was wondering that myself.... Hmm

You can save the movies to your disk, but you have to jump through a few hoops to do it, and the easiest way involves writing a Q&D HTML page that you can download from.

I'm not going to post the procedure here 'cause it's real geeky. But if you are a clever web surfer and you know just a little bit about HTML, it's easy.

--Dave Althoff, Jr.

I was thinking that the camera was mounted in some kind bearing that wouldn't rotate with the rotation of the train...all I know is that from the first time I saw that shot last year, I thought it looked awesome.

I just went into my Internet Options of Internet Explorer browser and found the three quicktime videos there in the View Files folder. Then I copy and pasted them to where I wanted to store them...easy enough.

Will Foamy become the next Strong Bad? I guess we will find out...

Caution: Foamy isn't quite as "PC" as Strong Bad.

If you want to save the movies and not have to write html, all you need to do is load the movie, select view source in your browser, copy the movie's url to your browser and load it, and then choose save from the file menu. To make this easier, just click the following url's and then choose save after they have finished loading (note: this is only for the high quality quicktime versions, perform the above procedure for the others.

Movie 2

Movie 3

I hope this helps.

The first one was really funny because it shows how some of us would react after riding our favorite ride.
