Recently I haven't herd much about the Possibilities for mean streak on its 10th birthday. Personally I believe that the trains are the only thing stopping it from being a great roller coaster legend.
Cedar Point lacks having a decent wooden coaster.

Well, first, the trains aren't the only problem on Mean Streak. The brakes contribute... just a WEE bit... Right... :)
But, if they do get a wooden coaster, they'll likely go with CCI, (seems as though everyone is) and get something with steel supports (like Villain). Smack some Gerstlauer trains and that baby's a world class coaster.
HOWEVER, if they want to do something remeniscant of the early 1920's, they may as well go with a GCI twister (like Roar or Wildcat) and put some Millennium Flyer trains on it. Those are REALLY good for nostalglic wooden coasters.

Ban(shee Man)tis, what's not to get...?
If they put the Millennium Flyer trains on Mean Streak it would be a number 1 coaster in many many people's books.

Putting Gerstlauer's on a new CCI doesn't necessarily make it a world-class coaster. I personally don't have many problems with the Gersts, but they could use some more padding. Some people seem to get REALLY banged up.
They LOOK nice, though.

The Gerstlauer's are ok but I don't think they would work well on Mean Streak.
