It didn't "offend" anyone. But a new type of roller coaster that heralded an "imminent death" was not the image that CP wanted to project.
This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!
True...anything goes in October. ;)
It just doesn't sound like a haunt to me at all. Haunts are places...not "things".
Now if it was "Lair of the Banshee"...or something like that, OK, but it's just..."Banshee".
I'll put my chips on "ride". And let it ride.

I think the Banshee name may be coming to a Cedar Fair park near you after all. Keep in mind that the Banshee "controversy" happened during the height of the politically correct '90s. A few people in Sandusky made a stink about it and the ultra conservative, devout Catholic, Dick Kinzel just didn't want to deal with it.
We are now in an era post-Harry Potter when millions of kids were encouraged to read about wizadry and death eaters and Universal Studios has reaped the financial rewards of that fantasy franchise. In hindsight "Banshee" sounds pretty tame.

-Walt Disney
I think a small portion of the footers for Banshee are already in place.

I think the trademark will explain a lot about the "evil phenonmenon" taking place at Kings Island!
