For the first time at Cedar Point, guests can sit back, relax and laugh their way through a new style of entertainment at the Palace Theatre in Frontier Town. Hoots & Hollers, an exclusive stand-up comedy series, features nationally touring comedians who have performed on “America’s Got Talent,” “Late Night,” Comedy Central and some of the top comedy clubs across the country.
This is actually a great idea. Having different comics helps keep it fresh, it won’t get stale like some of the other entertainment offerings.
I enjoy the typical Live E shows, but after seeing them a couple times, there’s not much replay value for me. From a business perspective, it makes sense too, probably way cheaper to bring in one comic than run a full production.
I just hope this ends up being an addition to the lineup, not a replacement for the more traditional shows.

I might take in some of the family friendly shows. I would imagine that the later show would border on "comedy hot-topics" such as race, sex, religion, politics. But I would expect CP to have it a tad toned down as it is an Amusement Park first and foremost. I can't stand hearing a comedian that swears constantly throughout. I've watched some acts on YouTube from a site called Drybar Comedy and there's some funny performers, without the excessive cursing.
There's a young man who is a relative of some friends of ours in Sandusky who is making his name in the comedy circuit named Tyson Colson. I have no idea how the CP acts get booked, or his style of comedy but it would be neat for a local to hit that stage.
Finally a subject on here that I am actually qualified to weigh in on!
Some of the names I'm not familiar with, I left the biz a few years ago. But Jeff Shaw, Kelly Colette, and Brian Sternik are comics I have worked with and I know they will put on an excellent, professional, and most importantly funny show.
Most excited for Mary Santora and Bill Squire, both formerly of the Alan Cox show heard in the afternoons in Cleveland.
I've worked with Mary many times and even though I'm pretty sure she hates me, is very relatable and hilarious and very well crafted bits. Definitely see her show if you can.
Bill and I started out in the business roughly around the same time in the early 2000s. After years of watching comedians I've become pretty jaded yet he still makes me laugh out loud. He's a comic's comic. I'm certain his 9pm late night show will push the boundaries of what CP will allow.
Even though I've been out of the comedy scene for a few years, I think it's great that CP is giving this a shot, and even happier that they are giving some local/Ohio comics some love.
