New Ride Idea

I know! There have been MANY threads about a new ride for Cedar Points 2005 season! Well I don't think anyone has really brought up this, but what if Cedar Point make a roller-coaster, that wasn't built for a speed or height record, but for length. The longest roller coaster currently is Steel Dragon 2000 at Nagashima Spaland in Nagashima, Mie, Japan. The longest wooden roller coaster is The Beast at Paramounts Kings Island in Cinicinnati, Ohio. They could take either approach and make either the longest wooden roller coaster or the longest steel roller coaster. I remember back in 2003 (I think), Six Flags unveiled three new rollers coasters, and one of them was X-No Limits. If they wanted to beat both length records for wooden and steel, they could take this and make both the longest wooden and the longest steel in the same year. I don't know if any of you see this the way I do, but I have rode The Beast countless times, I have not yet rode Steel Dragon 2000, but I bet it is a awesome ride.

Gimme some feedback!

couldnt you just, you know, put this in the other thread or something?
No
And you probably never will ride SD2000 either ;) *** Edited 8/15/2004 3:14:58 AM UTC by S2Kster***
LOL, I just happened to be strolling around Japan and figured I'd give it a whirl.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

Steel Dragon 2000 isn't even open, I think it's been closed since September due to an accident. Do you think it will be closed permanently or sold? It would be cool if CP had the 2 tallest coasters at one time.
That's why I said he'd probably never ride it. Last I heard, it was still closed indefinately. I'd never ride it even if they did get it back up and running...
It's because of all the earthquakes they have over there. *** Edited 8/15/2004 1:23:23 PM UTC by Huggy Bear***
Question: why the hell would Morgan make a record breaking coaster (height and length), in Japan?
Uhhh because they got payed enough? lol. No worries Millenium Force is better anyway :)

These coaster companies don't care where their coasters are built as long as they are paid.

Does anyone know what the accident was that close Steel Dragon 2000?

Actually it was a wheel that came off the train that has it SBNO.

As far as your "earthquake" theory, it has been reported that the cost of the ride exceeded $50 million US dollars with approximatly $25 million for earthquake protection for the structure (what that would be, I have no clue).

Can you see One-Eyed-Willie from the top of Magnum?

And why do we need another pointless speculation thread?
