Does anyone know for sure this ride is a "slingshot"? Why are there 3 seperate towers, all needing air? I am no expert and this may be a stupid question. Is this some type of prototype ride? I recently got an email from S&S, saying they have no such ride as a slingshot, does anyone have a picture of what this ride would be like? In the email they also said, "S&S is continually developing new rides and innovations to lead the industry in extreme thrills. While we cannot, unfortunately, give you any specific information at this time, an announcement will be made in the coming weeks regarding a new high-thrill attraction from S&S." Is this whats coming to the point?
Yes.. it is.. GO here for the pics.. I'm currently (and I do mean as you read this) working on the pics from my second trip "inside the barriers". There are already some new site prep pics up with commentary.

Rob, can you explain how the actual supports are going to be connected to the footers? I can see in you pictures that there are four slots on all of the footers, the bottoms of the supports look like they do match up with the slots. My question is how are going to stay together, I don’t see any slots for bolts.

It's going to be welded into place... those metal plates that stick up from the footer.. are about 3 feet long. Buried into the concrete of the footer..
It will become one large piece of metal basically.. Remember.. there won't be alot of lateral forces on the structure like a coaster gets.

Anybody remember the S&S article that was in Wired Magazine March 2001 issue. Remember how it talked about Stan Checketts talkin with Cedar Fair Execs. Also near the end of the article he talks about a new attraction they are developing. Im wondering if this is the new thing that is being built now. "People will be strapped into harnesses, parachute-style, shot up to 300 feet, and then inverted for the free fall down." Says its for a yet unnamed tower ride scheduled to debut this spring. Well I dont remember any other ride from S&S that came out this spring (dont say thrust air that dont count). So I would like to think that is a general description of what we can expect. In the article Stan goes on to say that its insane and that he cant believe anyone would want to ride it. To me that sounds like the yet unnamed "new high thrill attraction" that cp is building right now. Tell me what you think...

Im a lurker....
Ohh it's named already.. hehehe
But it does fit the description.. and if you look at some other threads.. some of us were expecting this to be open at the beggining of this season.

Yes, the quote from Wired that ThRiLLsEeKeR mentioned is referring to the new ride that CP is getting.
