Check out the three new photos on the Cedar Point web site. These are the best yet.
They suspended the camera from the big crane and snapped the photos. Great Views!! They look like they were taken at about 250 feet in the air!

One word: AWESOME!
It's funny. You walk down Frontier Trail all these years and think it is so narrow (long, but narrow). That's a lot of land. What a great view. It's strange not seeing the Giant Wheel there. Looking forward to seeing photos of that go up too.
OH MY!!!! I lost my stomach just looking at them pictures!! GULP!! The site was right when your mouse sits on the pic..."I can see my house from hereeeeeeeeeeeee!"

My observations:
1 Space Spiral - You never looked so small!
2 Giant Wheel (or lack there of) - strange!
3 Mantis - great layout shot!
4 MF:
- that first overbanked turn looks oh-so-tight!
- I see more track next to Perimeter Rd.?
- did I mention that I'm getting dizzy?
- Is that Canada off in the distance???
- moreover, is that my house?!?!?!?
I'll definitly pass up Six Dollars in Ohio for this one!!!

My observation: I knew that the drop was 80 degrees, but I don't think I realized how steep that would be until I saw the shot of the drop towers. Did you see how far down that second tower is. That'll be one steep drop!
i was sittin in the gym lookin at this thing and i was showing all the people before the game tonight and i was like i am already scared poopless and i havent even been on it yet

I posted a stupid, so so very stupid post in another topic about how MF didnt look that tall, I guess they gave me the perpective I was looking for! I will be riding this one by myself, I can barely get my mother on Magnum, she wont go for this one! I just cannot beleive how massive the whole ride is, in comparison with the building on the trail, MF will make every other ride in the park look like toys!

The photos remind me of the old slogan CP used for Magnum:
Even When You See It, You Won't Believe It!
I've already put in for the day off at work for Opening Day.

Mantis How Much Can You Stand?
I know this has been said already, but
WOW!
Actually, my reactions to each picture, as I opened them in order:
PIC 1 - overlooking loading station and lift hill.
Just about what I was expecting. Still wish they'd move that monstrosity of a Summer Spectacular screen. We're pretty high. Cool.
PIC 2 - The tallest tower at its final 30-story height.
Sheesh, taller than it looked in the last picture! Only now do I notice that little red and yellow thing down there. Oh? That's the Mantis' 120 foot loop? Wow! And hey, Breakers Towers sure looked a lot bigger from TGIFridays.
PIC 3 - Overlooking footers and overbanked turn.
Holy Hells Fire! I guess I'm with Natas in that I really didn't perceive what 80 degrees was going to look like. Also, Seven is dead-on in his observation of the tightness of the first overbanked turn. Unbelievable! I don't think my car has a turning radius that small.
I'm going to be going up that first hill looking like that idiotic girl in Blair Witch:
"I... am.... so........ huff puff puff scared... huff huff puff

I think one of the most striking things is the lift side of the hill. It isn't going to be like any other trip up around.
That first turn is really something! And is that a ladder for maintenance people on the inside of the 300' tower? I wouldn't want that job! Those are some awesome pictures that really show how tight and dynamic this ride will be. The more I see, the more I think that MF will EXCEED people's expectations.
I don't think any of the photos I shot really show it, but those small rectangular columns are temporary "tracks" of sorts for these things that look like long window washer platforms. They slide up that track.

I really hope that they move the webcam up there seeinga show it is hard to see what is going on now from its current perspective. If they can put a camera up there I don't see why they can't put the web cam up there.--Please--Pretty please
---pretty please with a cherry and mustard on top.
Personally, after looking at the pictures I think the scariest thing about MF is going to be going around that first turn at 90+ mph, hanging almost up-side-down, with nothing but a bar and seatbelt holding in the train.
Also, am I mistaken, our is the tower on the right hand side of the picture that shows the first turn, the 2nd tower of the descent? So that picture is really from ONLY about 220 feet up, the descent actually starts higher then that. WOW!!!.
I think I lost my stomach somewhere on Cedarpoint.com.....WOW!!!!!!!!!!! 154 days?! D'oh!

At the dawn of the new millennium they all bowed down to CP realizing they lost the war.
WoW! :) Look at how close MF is to Lake Erie. Thats another kinda cool feature!
