New loose articale rule?

crazy horse's avatar

We were at the point a few times the last few weeks and noticed that they are now letting people leave items on the ride platforms. As we all know, they never let people do this in the past.

Has there been some change in this because of the new "no loose articals" policy? Or has cp had a change of heart.

Imo, I do not like this because its like walking thrue a mine field trying to get to the exit. It also give it a "dirty" look.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

This actually used to be the policy. They changed it this year to the "no articles in any line" policy which should have gotten someone fired, and then changed it back after a few weeks of bad feedback.

Personally, I love it.

I know that a lot of you guys have the attitude of "if its not absolutely necessary, don't bring it in." but that's not always the case.

I like playing games now and then. In the past I never played them because I didn't want to hassle with running out to my car, putting the prizes in and coming back to ride, so I never played games.

That's not to say I don't eventually put it in my car, but this now gives me the option of playing games or whatever, and finding my way to my car at my own pace.

I just don't "do" fanny packs, and sometimes I hate keeping stuff in my cargo pockets for various reasons. I think it's just an overall good policy in case I have the need to set something down.

It's just a metter of convenience and making a day at the park a relaxing one.

I guess as long as they are out of the way for people getting off the rides, loose articles on the platform aren't too much of a hazard. But then there is the theft issue.

As far as stuffed animals go, there is a bin rental at the front of the park to put them in untill you leave. This is so people dont have to carry them around or have to go all the way out to the car. As to why cedarpoint does not advertise this more is beyond me.

It baffles me to see all the people walking around the park at 11am with 5 or 6 gigantic stuffed animals on there shoulders. Why would you want to lug them around an amusement park all day?

Not only do I think it looks bad, but it holds up the ride because half the train is running over to put things down on the platform before having to deal with the lap bars and seat belts.

Basically, Cedar Point is slowly coming in line with every other major amusement park in the world........

Of course, some of us could go on for days about the wrong-headedness of some of the operational decisions made in the park this season. Oh, wait a minute...some of us already have...

--Dave Althoff, Jr.

Well, it's about time. I visited Cedar Point a couple of months ago and the first ride I went on the ride operater yelled at me over the intercom because I had my purse with me. Come on! This is preposterous. How am I supposed to carry anything around with me. I am glad that they are finally allowing people to leave their items on the ground. (That is what actually happens right?) That is more convenient for people. I know safety is important but this ridiculousness needs to stop now.

Well some people are very uncomfortable stuffing money and stuff in their pockets. Geez it might fall out of my small pockets.

See ya at the point!

Keep in mind she is doing her hair for "you".

That "you" was directed at me, right Mr. Scott. Or not. But, one thing I found funny was when I rode on Raptor, I asked the lady operator if I could just throw my sandals off to the side of the station, since I didn't want to waste time and walk from the front of the train to the bins. She said, no, take 'em to the bin. So, I was like, okay, it's procedure. Then after a great ride, I get back to the station only to find sandals, pursues, and other items thrown to the side, not in the bin but right next to booth thingy. I looked at the lady operator and pointed at the sandals sprawled on the floor and was like, "Whaaa?" and made hand motions. She just laughed.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

That "you" was directed at anyone male. You can choose if that's you or not.

I noticed this too.

I saw this going on in most rides. Mean Streak and Corkscrew are the one's that I remember it definately happening, but I am sure that it was happening on almost every ride.

And it has coused "stacking" on certain rides.

It hasn't "coused" anything on any ride....

And Scotty, if she's gotta carry around a bag full of Sxxx to do her hair, she is WAY too high maintenance and not worth the trouble. Hell, money fits just FINE into pockets, or at least I've never had a problem with it.

I dont like the new rule. It makes the station look messy, plus holds up load and unload times. Cedar Point is about capasity and i can see that going down hill very quick. I noticed that corkscrew kept stacking trains because the ride host had to "kick items to the side" because they cant touch them. I hope it dosent turn into PKI because i have seen ride host there not able to clear a train because his hands where so full. I hope they keep Dragster the way it is, because the ride host are getting trains in and out very quick. Great job to that crew.

I have a problem keeping money in my pocket while at the park. ;)

True dat....of course, the only time I remember trouble on a ride is when my brother forgot he had change in his shirt pocket on Millenium. He remembered as it went whipping past his ear on the way down the first hill.
