New logo vs. old logo

why didn't Cedar Fair adopt the old Geauga Lake logo? I much prefer it to the new logo. The new one is soooo plain! Plus I think "An American Classic" is better than "Family Amusement Park"

New Logo: www.geaugalake.com

Because it's really not an American Classic if it changed hands? That's what I would guess. Plus maybe there's something legally not allowed with that.

I don't like the new one it's just too plain. I honestly thought they would be getting a 'logo' and not just the words Geauga Lake. Oh well, maybe they will adopt something over time. CP has changed how it's name looks over the years.

The new logo is contemporary and classic looking all at once. I like it.

First rule of marketing a failed brand is to be careful not to evoke memories of its negative past. Remember that the park has been run poorly and owned by Six Flags long before they changed the name. It has to come back as something fresh and new.

What time does the water show start?

I was hoping for a return of the jester but I like this as well. Its in line with the other CF parks. Good Job.

Worlds of Fun is the only Cedar Fair park that I can think of that really has a logo, and not just the words. Dorney Park, Valleyfair!, Cedar Point are all pretty much words in a wavy shape or somin. Actually I think I like it more than a big fancy logo. Just keep it nice and simple and I'm happy!

Old Logo all the way

Those who realy lived, Never realy Die.

Jeff you love anything Cedar Fair does.

GLP was run just fine before Sea World was bought. I think most people around here would be thrilled if the park was brought back to its former state, even if shabby. At least people had fun then.

I say if they are thinking of bringing back the dog they need to bring back the old Funtime jester (aka sun face).

You mean when SF owned the park but it wasnt "flagged." Remember SF has owned the park since about 1995.

GLP ran just fine when it was Funtime. Premier/Six Flags put a lot of money in the park installing new rides, but the operations were not nearly as good as Funtime's.

Whatever dude... you don't know me and you're not qualified to make that assessment.

So what are you critical of when it comes to CF, dude? Anytime someone dissagrees with CF, it's like, dude, you automatically take the supportive role (from EVERYTHING i've read or discussed with you). And yes i don't know you, dude, but i can make an assessment from what i've read on the boards.

Oh i am sure that there are some little things you could come up with, but nine times out of ten CF can do no wrong with Jeff... dude.

I am kind of partial to the old logo myself.

But at the same time I think the new logo is kinda flashy.

Just like Cedar Point's many logos of the past. They looked good, but the parks have made them look more modern and cool looking. Many people would like to see GL go back to the way it is, but many people would really like to see a older park get reborn and become new and fresh. The new logo looks better.

Keep Arms Down, Head Back, and Hold On!!

Being rather impartial since I never paid attention to the old logo when it was used, I would have to say that I like the newer one. It seems to envoke the style of Cedar Point's logo...which is probably done by design to be a reminder that the company owns Cedar Point now owns Geauga Lake.

Will Foamy become the next Strong Bad? I guess we will find out...

Caution: Foamy isn't quite as "PC" as Strong Bad.

I like them both. I really loved SFWOA logo but I also really like the new Geauga Lake logo.
I like the new Geauga Lake logo. I think it looks bright and sharp.

I don't know about anyone else here, but I know I get tired of seeing the SF logos sometimes.
