Something I havent seen mentioned here yet is the new price for onetime use lockers. The price has now doubled to $2. Anyone else think thats a little ridiculous? I cant wait to see the price they want to charge at Soak City this year. It particularly bad when I seem to remember the KI lockers still only costing $0.75 this year.
$2????? That is robbery. Oh wait a minute, I remember splitting a 17 dollar locker with my sister and her kids at Six Flags St. Louis last year.
Cedar Point still has relatively fair prices for everything in the park. I know they seem rediculous, but you know they are doing what they can to still bring a great experience to their guests while still meeting their bottom line.
Well, "too much" depends on the size of the locker, really. If it can hold the "extra" stuff for a family of 3-4, and be accessed as many times as desired by said family, then I'd say $17 isn't really too much, considering the convenience factor.
And if people are paying the $17, then its obviously not way too much...

That is ridiculous....i say this because TTD and MF force you in to renting a locker if you come there with anything other then a drink and some food.
All this does is make me run around the park more, or try and yes...keep cameras, cell phones, wallets, and other devices in my locker.
This stinks....
Now renting a locker is making more sense....
I have a crazy, novel way to avoid lockers - I wear cargo pants/shorts, and anything that doesn't fit, doesn't come in with me. There has been an exception or two - an incredibly hot day in '07 that required a ton of sunscreen and water, and thus a backpack, for example. And I realize that families, especially with young kids, would be another exception.
So, you're only "forced" to rent a locker at those rides if you choose to bring too much stuff in with you. :)
I will say that the locker price increase adds marginally to the value of the drink wristband, as compared to those stupid souvenir cups.

At KI, I paid $8 for an all day locker rental. My keys, SLR in its backpack bag, wife's purse, and Loopy's camera all went in there. I only went back to it twice, to get my camera for picture taking time, and then to put it back, but it was worth the $8 to me, big time.
CP, the cars are a little closer, and there aren't metal detectors at the gates, so I'm more apt to leave the SLR in the trunk until I need it, but generally, once picture taking time is over, I'll pay for the one time use lockers.
Call me lazy, call me a tourist, I don't care. The things that are there for the convenience of the so-called "GP" have my seal of approval. I don't go places for marathon rides, and running from exit to entrance. I go to relax and get away from every day life, and if something costs an extra couple of bucks to help make that possible, so be it.
The only time I need a locker is when riding MF. Because usually I do bring my camera, and phone into the park with me. So I think I would rather walk to my car, which is parked in SC parking lot, then pay $2. Maybe it is a fair price, but I am just cheap. :)
"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"
We spent a total of $10 on lockers for the day. We had refillable cups and a string-backpack with my 9-year old's sunblock, asthma medicine and eczema lotion.
I don't mind renting a locker for $2 or even for the day, but the park is huge and if you need to get to your stuff more than once or twice that day, you'll want to move your stuff with you through the park, so you'll end up re-renting more lockers closer to where you are riding. If you want to take advantage of the refillable cups, you'll have to move them with you as well.
