New lighting on games is taking shape.

If you look at the web cam, you can see some of the new lighting for the games area.

You can't see much from the current view from the webcam. I'm excited to see the new facade on the games. It was so ugly before, glad CP noticed.

That is weird that no one had mentioned it yet though.

But the new sign(the one that says GAMES or something) along with the flags by DT are only a couple of days old. BUT long enough to be noticed.

Looks like they also have the supports for the maXair sign ready to go too.

I was at the park today and they were bringing the lights over to the area of the games. The box said games lighting or something like that.

That games sign reminds me of the Dogems one.

They just put up another sign, this sign reads "skill". Also, maxair is testing again.

Now I have a question I see they put the lights up on the midway you know the walkway light well I see that the light is on the very top of the red poll. My question is what are the grey things on the side of it? If you look closely you can see a cord but I am wondering what they are for.

That's a good question! Those are some weird looking lights. They almost look like those mini lightning machines....or strobe lights. ;)

I thought maybe they are fan not for them to stay but maybe to make something dry on the pavment. I would really like to know. Can anyone tell me what those are?

They could possibly be some sort of light dome for a moving light, such as the Martin one:

Next sign goes right in front of the webcam. :)

From what they look like, either they are cool special fx lights (moving/colored/strobe) or just white lights angled up, with a shield on top angled downward to direct the light down/out. If it happens to be the 2nd type, I have to say they would be pretty nifty, I've seen them used in The Omni Hotel in downtown Atlanta on their inside Atrium.

I have to say that the new GAMES signs look pretty cool. I wonder what the other features of the face lift include...

From what I can see, the new lighting is very "Art Deco" similar style to the famous "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign on Las Vegas Blvd.

The signs say "games" and "skill" and the new lightposts seem to have moving lights (like the laser show lights) in the little glass bubbles. The other thing I noticed today is that there are many, many, many new little security cameras being installed in the new games buildings.

And... Maxair looks very cool from 100 feet away :)

Standing underneath it on the midway when it swings over you is a pretty neat view also! ;)
