New lighting effect on lift hill

Check it out, MF has a cool new lighting effect going up the lift hill. This little ball of light travels up the lift hill until it reaches the top and it repeats.

EDIT: Wait, is that an air craft warning beacon? If it is than I am sorry for posting this.

NOTE: For obvious reasons the lighting effect can only be seen at night.

If you are looking at the cleveland cam, then you are not seeing Milleniums lift hill as it is not visible from that cam.

The lighting you are seeing is coming from the Mantis lift

John

Yup, probably Mantis' string lights. They look like those Christmas lights but in a tube. If I remember correct, the last section is red, so that's how you could tell for sure if it's Mantis. It kinda ruins the effect that the lights travel up the hill so much faster than the train does... they should get that synchronized (I know, not an easy project).

What IS the air-speed velocity of an African swallow?

It is mantis and they have been since always.

Are those purple lights Power Towers' or is it reflecting off something?

Hey it would be even cooler if they had several balls of light going up.. they just turn more lights on and off at a time! that would look way cool!

I thought those lights on Mantis were only a few years old. Also, I'm glad to see that the Power Tower finally got some color back. Being all white last year was so boring. I liked it when it changed colors.

I always remember Power Tower changing colors. Even last year.
I wish they kept the MF lights on the same white light and not change the colors.

Aww, come on Dan. I know you secretly love the rainbow color. ;)

Richie A.

I remember the first time I rode MF (at night) the lift lights were blue. BUt I love the MF light show in line
The rainbow colors are by far the best of Millennium Force. It's really neat. If I could take pictures of it I would but I know it would come out blurry unless you have a tripod. The lightning effect on the tower is really neat too but not as cool as the rainbow.

I remember closing day last year, I was sitting outside of the restroom on the FrontierTrail. It was the first time I saw MF up close at night. It's a sight to behold. Very dramatic lighting effect.

Dragster is the most stuning. The two spotlights can be found anywhere inside the park. The ride is brighter at night than it is with the sun shinning on it.

TTD lights can be seen like miles away :P The power tower looks like they are finally back in sequence unlike last year. I duno why it wasn't working right. *shrug*
The white strobe effect on MF's lift is definitely the best.
I like the calm rolling wave style of transitioning b/w the blue and purple. Near the end of a long summer day it just seems peaceful and pretty (wow, I said pretty, now i'm worried)

The TTD light are pretty cool. Unfortunately, I was unable to ride TTD during my trip yesterday because it was closed because of high winds. The time I went last year, the ride was closed all day due to rain. Gah!

Last night, I was waiting in line for MF. I was amazed by the tower lighting on it. I was rather mad though about the fact that there are about 2 million mosquitos inside the loading station.

While I was waiting in line, I took a look at TTD. The rather boring white lights are okay, they make the ride look neat, but I noticed one thing. Clouds were coming in and it was beginning to storm. The TTD lights were so powerful, you would see them lighting up the clouds. It was pretty neat.

Also, the lighting of the roof of the TTD station is also quite a colorful sight.
