New Intamin Ride...

...according to Intamin's website, they are developing a new water ride concept. I haven't found much information on it, but I was just wondering what all you guys thought about this...---------------------------------------------------------NEW DEVELOPMENTS COMING SOON

Did it say that it was at Cedar Point?

Hold on, I'll check the Intamin website for anything Cedar Pointish. BRB

No, nothing Cedar Pointish...I was just wondering what some people's take was on this new ride. I really don't like Coasterbuzz (in fact, I've only used it once or twice). Heck, I don't even like GTTP because everyone is always being mean to everyone else on here, but it is a GENERAL topic. Thanks.

Ok, I went to the Intamin AG website and clicked on News. It says NOTHING about Cedar Point.

And to make my point more clear, why would CP add ANOTHER launch ride right after Wicked Twister and TTD? Are they avoiding traditional rides, or just not paying any attention to what they're building?

I'm not putting you down Brian, just making a point. I hate it when people are ruid to me too out here.

I don't like it when people are ruid to me too.

yeah, that's exactly what I was talking about...why do people get off on correcting other people. just because they make a typo doesn't give anyone the right to put them down...

...but to get back on topic, if you go here and scroll down to the 2nd entry, it talks about their new launched water ride. Interesting

What I don't get is why people get off of people just making a little joke or correction? It's not that big of a deal in the first place, just drop the insult/correction and move on. You're online, not like you're going to meet these anonymous people anyways. And if you do, do you think you're going to hold a grudge because they corrected your spelling online?

Hopefully a "What happened to GTTP?" thread isn't necessary... ;)

Chrysler's new catch-phrase: "Drive & Love"... Isn't that dangerous?

This topic doesn't have anything to do WITH Cedar Point however.

Coasterbuzz?? Yes.. and this wouldn't be the first water launched ride.

There is already a launched waterslide where you actually go UPHILL on a wave of water.

Back on topic.....

Perilous Plunge was supposed to use LIMs to slow the boat, I guess it was theoretically a backwards launch. IT FAILED MISERABLY. The lims pushed the boat up closer to the surface of the water, the boat hydroplaned, and it crashed right into the rocks at the end (minor crash). The only way this launch could be in the water (vs a water coaster with the launch like a normal coaster) is if its a hydraulic launch (hey, it takes a lot of power to part the water) or the water ride runs on rails.

I wouldn't consider the master blaster to be a launch because it keeps you at a steady speed going up the hill, it doesn't accelerate you AT ALL.

intamin has done it again......... Sad thing is the ride will probably be more unreliable than you could imagine. Someone will still buy though.

Again with Intamin rides being unreliable! What's with the Intamin hating? Intamin's rides have no more downtime when opening than Arrow rides, Morgan rides, or Vekoma rides. In some cases they're actually more reliable.

Speedy: You were misinformed or just made it up. Why would you use LIM's to slow down the boat when generic magnets and the water itself do the job just fine?

I saw the images of a boat up off the track at the end of the run, but no one saw it get there, so for all we know it was put there. Not to mention, if the boat was moving that fast to get up that high out of the channel, don't you think it would have shreded the boat? Furthermore, the number of magnets and depth of the water would have everything to do with how fast the boat stopped, and if either one was set incorrectly, obviously it would create a problem.

Michael, you seem to have a great love for Intamin, this isn't the first time you've been down the road of defense for Intamin....

Well, why hate on Intamin? They have taken the amusement park industry by storm these past few years, and show no sign of letting up. Just because a few of their rides have experienced downtime doesn't mean that they are unreliable.

Also, whatever happened to having a sense of humor when people "put people down?" It's all in good fun, I mean is anyone forcing you to come here? This place is for discussion, but also a place to have fun and joke around a bit. Don't be so uptight.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

Top Thrill Dragster, who are you calling a dork? You're not any better, what a creative NAME you have...... hmmmmm go figure

Sorry, I didn't want to put anyone down, but when they start doin' that, I get angry. I got enough put downs in high school (bad memories.......), and I don't want anymore now. Thanks. No CP bound, nobody is forcing me to come here, but when I come here to talk about Cedar Point, I don't want to be called names and crap. Why else is everyone else here, to TALK ABOUT CEDAR POINT.

There, my big rant for the day. Halliluejah it's finally out. Sorry if I hurt anyone by this becuase I didn't mean to.

Sure it is our choice to come here, but when people jump all over others for spelling/capitilization I think it is unnecessary. It is the Internet and most people don't have enough good sense (or politeness) to spell everything out.

Neo- Ah, but it is! I've stuck up for B&M countless times, but this is the first time I've really stuck up for Intamin.
