I heard today that there is a new ice cream shop by the main arcade called "Fountain Custard". Is this true?
The last blog didn't mention anything. And I haven't seen anything in the news about it. It would be nice though.

I think it's always been called Fountain Custard.
Okay. I have never noticed it but thanks for clarifying it.

MMM custard. I always go there for custard because the one in Frontier Town is rarely open.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Since we are adding chains to CP now, why not put a Ritters Frozen Custard in the park? That would be delicious. I guess I should preface this by saying that I haven't tried the frozen custard at CP before. But I do love the Tofts!

I see a Cold Stone before a Ritters, since Starbucks and Cold Stone seem to go hand in hand.

Josh, I'll second that yeah for Toft's. One of the best ice cream values (down at the diary, i mean) that I have EVER found. Their small is bigger than most larges I have found.

Cold Stones are going into Six Flags parks. I'm not sure if there's an official agreement or not, but that may hinder its entrance into Cedar Point.
Plus, it seems to me that CP is adding chains that are not well-known chains. Before I came to Akron, I'd never heard of Chick-Fil-A. Before CP's Johnny Rockets, I didn't know they existed. Same thing with Famous Dave's. I think it's a good idea, though. Though it is chain food, it's not the crap that you can get down the street (for most people, anyway).

Well, Johnny Rockets are all over the country, including one here in Detroit. But Chick-Fil-A and Panda Express are deciently known chains. Chick-Fil-A is normally just down southeast part of the country though.
I just figured since you see the Starbucks and the Cold Stones together in the little ajointed shops, that you'd see them at CP, since they already have Starbucks coffee (which is good, by the way).
I dunno, I'd just a soon keep the chains out but money talks..

I live in South Bend, IN and we have 2 Chick-Fil-A's within 5 minutes of each other. Fort Wayne has several as well...
I've never seen the joint Starbucks-Cold Stone however. Here in South Bend we have two Cold Stones. One is close to a Starbucks, but not next door, and the other is in a strip mall with several other restaurants and shops, but no Starbucks.
However, like Starbucks, Cold Stone is way overpriced.

Josh, have you ever been to Ivanhoe's? Some amazing sundaes there (over 100 different ones!), and they use Atz's ice cream (do they carry that stuff up by South Bend?). I personally think Atz's is better than Toft's but I'll give it another go when I'm at the Point on opening weekend, maybe my mind will change.
As for Cold Stone, I really like their ice cream and will pay the premium price for it every now and then. I really think for a national chain, it is the best ice cream. Yes, I will even say that it is better than Velvet, and I love Velvet ice cream.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Come on! Dunkin Donuts is better than Herton's ANY DAY!
