Is there an issue with threads beyond 795 posts?

Goodbye MrScott

Probably the fact that it takes forever to load for those on dial-up. Also, bandwidth issues as well.

Thank goodness - I never even looked at the other one because it took ages to find anything...lol

What forever to load? It only had to load 25 messages at a time. I have a feeling there is something in the code hard set to 32 pages. So the forums can't go beyond that.

32 pages would be a strange limit...

I know, especially for something to be coded in. It is 2^5, so it does make more sense than 795. I would think possibly a database limit, but even that doesn't make sense. Oh well, just my curiosity.

Perhaps the limit is 800 or 1000, and Jeff was just staying ahead of the game, so to speak. Although, that would be weird that they're both at 795 when locked... strange coincidence?

Or maybe its just an unresolvable bug that was not purposely coded.

I'm sure Jeff can provide more details, but there really isn't a set limit as far as numbers go. It's more of how really, really long threads in general are a drain on resources.

It is funny how synchronized those two threads have been.

Almost too synchronized... ;)

Brandon

You know what's really funny is that the one thread that started before Skyhawk was annouced, the one with 83 pages on it is on page 14. I thought by now Walt or Jeff would've deleted it.

The trees are budding.

I don't think that I have ever seen this happen before.

True?

Brandon

Wah! Mommy! ;)

Whatever, It's a big thing in Canada seeing trees Bud in April when around here it happens Mid-July... ;)

I wasn't making fun of either of the two posts (yours & MrScott's), but rather the humorous combination of the two.

We like seeing the trees bud here as well, and I hate Alberta. Go Wings.
