Just this morning on 13 Action News, they said that Cedar Point is planning a new attraction for next year, but, the announcement for that new attraction is still a month away.

No... 13 was doing a story on the effect weather had on attendance. I know this because I was standing at their truck on Perimeter Rd. (where The Force was covered in real and fake fog).

Ahh when are they gonna put out their press release, the anticipation is killing me, even though they aren't getting anything major, I wanna know if there is anything to get even slightly excited about considering I just got my season pass in the mail not too long ago for 2001.
I have a strong feeling that the rumor of putting a motion base in the Imax theater may be more than a rumor.
Stand by for press release... I'll have it this afternoon.

The press release is out on CP's website!! Jeff hit it right on the head. Nothing that is overly exciting but some nice improvements none the less.
Camper Village will get a complete overhaul. Thats the big thing happening. The other changes include renovations to the Main Midway that will include a large dancing waterfountain and a major upgrade is coming for Halloweekends. Mr. Spartan should like this. There is also changes coming for the dorms and a few other enhancements and improvements that they did not elaborate on.
Thats it folks.

I would be intrested in knowing more about the Main Midway upgrades. It's been the same for years. The dancing waterfountains sound interesting. I wonder if it will go the length of the midway.....

Well, I live 7 miles from the park and reading the news release has me interested in staying at Lighthouse Point. I wonder what the costs will be and when they will start taking reservations.

You were right Jeff, nothing to get excited about. I believe this is the first time since 1984 that CP has not had a new ride of some form. There's not going to be much to talk about this winter, unless you like to camp.
Lighthouse Point sounds expensive. In my opinion Camper village is already expensive, but it's cheaper than the Breakers. The cabins sound like fun for Halloweekends. I'm looking forward to the upgrades. Hopefully the pool will be open to everyone in CV and not just LP.
According to the official CP news release that I recieved today-in a nutshell most of the renovation will be the addition of 10 cabins and 59 luxury RV campsites. The dancing waterfountain should be too cool (doesnt Epcot have one of these?) The camper news does nothing for me anyway-I can just about imagine how much one of those cabins would be for 1 night-well beyond my price range!!
Ok-so no new coaster.....
guess we'll all just have to stick with the ones we've got!!! =)
