New Flats

This park needs some new awesome flat rides I think. We have no more Vertigo. Only Power Tower. I think this park alson has to many coasters. It isn't easy to ride them all in a day.

So I think this park needs to take a break from coaster building and build some flats instead. I think we need one of those huss frisbees because they are intense and cool!

i think that they have just enough coasters. there is a section of this site that shows you how to get all the coasters done in one day. as for the flat rides, i think that chaos, power tower, and the occasional ripcord are all the flatride i need.

What about Demon Drop? Though I do agree that more flats would be good, it makes no difference to me if they add more flats.

Even though CP has a lot of flat rides, it is in need of some new ones. Just go on the website for Huss and see all the ones that would look great on the CP grounds. I also think CP needs a top-notch dark ride.

Adding more flat rides would give the park even more diversity than it already has.

I'm thankful for the new ride, but I'm all for getting the Huss giants. With the insane capacity of those things I'm sure they can justify it.

Can't ride all the coasters in one day? Then how did I ride them all in each of my 21 trips last summer, including a whole lot of coasters I rode more than once in a day? All you have to do is know how to avoid the areas where the big crowds are. Freeway stamps help out a great deal also.

On the subject of flats, I would be all for CP adding some new flat rides. It would certainly help to add to the array of rides they already have.

I've been wanting to see at least 1 Giant Huss come into the park. At least one would prove how popular they are with the GP, and justify the cost immediatly. Not to mention the capacity Jeff mentioned earlier.

I love Chaos, I love Power Tower (well, the up side anyway... that down side still scares the crap outta me), Demon Drop is a once-in-a-while thing for me (but I'm glad it's still around!)... but what other thrilling flats do we have? It's high time we get to play on one of these toys.

Yep, Land of the Giants (by Huss) would fit perfectly at CP. It seems like a natural.
Bring back the Rotor!!!
One of thoes Land of the Giants areas by Huss would be great over in Frontiertown. It would bring people to the back of the park, and perhaps more ridership on Mean Streak. Although I would miss the quiet times back there.

I had a dream last night about Cedar Point. I don't think this could even happen but I was inside the structure, or the middle of Mean Streak. There was a Land of the giants type thing inside there. Interesting dream, but I don't think it could work, let alone be built.

MFRULES, I thought a "Troika" was a sled pulled by a team of three horses...

Who rode such a sleigh in 1987...

Oh man...my sig is wrong. Darn. Goodbye "Troika" sig.

According to dictionary.com," A Russian carriage drawn by a team of three horses abreast. "

Thanks for pointing that out.

I like the idea of the Land of the Giants inside the Main Streak wasteland, however I would think it would be unrealistic for three reasons. First, unless you rode Mean Streak (which MANY people do not) or there were signs promoting the area, most people would not know it existed due to a lack of visability. Additionally, getting the ride pieces and heavy equipment to assemble the rides might be difficult to get to the site (unless there is an opening in the Mean Streak structure or one is created similar to Phantom's Revenge and Thunderbolt at Kennywood). Finally, there is likely not enough space for all 4 rides.

And while the Land of the Giants does look great, don't forget about the regular Huss catalogue, which features some great rides such as the UFO, Break Dance, and Booster, each of which (or as a ride package) would be a great addition to the park. The rides look great, have a great maintenance record, and most importantly are a blast to ride. They may not be the cheapest rides out there (a Maurer Spinning Mouse actually cost less than a regular Frisbee), but it's not like CP doesn't have the bucks.

I agree with others who have said that CP could definately use some more flats to balance out their ride package.

Well if they promote the ride enough people would know about it. But as Idora Wilscat stated it would be pretty hard to build something unless there already is an opening or they create an opening.

Well, if they could somehow get a crane inside the middle, it wouldn't be hard at all. Then they could just lift the pieces from one side to another. Besides, you really wouldn't have to worry about the ride being noticed. Just put up signs inside the park and make it very noticable on the park map. If the time ever comes that they decide to build a ride inside of Mean Streak, I am sure they will find a way.

You don't need all of those big rides inside Mean Streak. Put like two or three inside and put the rest around MS.

But we probably won't be seeing this for sometime because after adding three big attractions in the last three years(MF,WT,#16), its time to take a break.

A CP 'Break' is a cap budget limited to $13 million or so. I look forward to their next break.

They should add those new tilting seats (not sure how many degrees) to Power Tower. That would be cool.
