New Flagship Coaster?

How many peeps out there think that Dragster will replace Millennium Force as the new Flagship coaster at CP? I say it will.

From a marketing standpoint it will be. In others eyes it won't be..

I've always thought there were too many great coasters there for one to ever be the 'flagship' coaster.

If you build the world's tallest and fastest coaster.. you can be sure that it will be your flagship coaster.

Maggie will always be the flagship coaster for me. It's historical significance grows each year and it's location on the Peninsula is unmatched, even by MF.

Maggie put Cedar Point on the globe, not just the map.

Maggie, got to be Maggie.

Seeing as how I have referred to my season pass as my "Magnum pass" several times in the past, I didn't even realize Millennium Force was the flagship coaster.

And who said this had anything to do with the Dragster, Maggie or Millie? It's none of them --GEMINI is the flagship coaster. The first world's tallest for the Point and still the most popular. Size...isn't...everything.

CoastaPlaya, I agree with you completely. But from their marketing standpoint next season, I bet they'll advertise #16 more, but they'll still throw in MF and WT in the commercial.

I think you have to give Maggie the props here. Gemini totally set the tone for the park, i agree. Maggie though changed the tone for the rest of the world as well.

IMO, there never would have been a Mili without a Maggie or truly Gemini for starting CF thinking about records.

Dragster will rightfully be in the spotlight. The launch will be insane, and the heights will be as scary as hell. Can you imagine carts without sides going over 400 feet? For someone who's afraid of heights, even though I still ride all the rides, this will be terrifing! Everyone here might say they aren't afraid, but when you get in that cart you're going to have second thoughts.

i happen to think maggie is still my flagship coaster because like other people have said, if cedar point wouldnt of made maggie, we wouldnt be watching them make a 400+' coaster right now

\Flag"ship`\, n. (Naut.) The vessel which carries the commanding officer of a fleet or squadron and flies his distinctive flag or pennant.

So I think that the commanding officer would be put onto the best ship in a fleet. The biggest, the stronggest, the safest, the fastest.

So this is new ride is the fastest and tallest. But its more of a specialty/novelty ship thing. I think Millie is really the "best" ship in the fleet (considering it is #1 on a lot of lists). So i would go with millie as the flagship since it is very big, very fast, very safe, and very strong.

I will agree that Maggie is not only the greatest coaster in CP's 133 year history, but it also also probably one of the greatest coasters of all time in coaster and amusement park history. Magnum revolutionized the amusement and
thrill ride industry in a way that remains unmatched to this day. But from a marketing stand point, CP will probably market Dragster as it's very best.

Of course, we'd all like to see the amusement park that doesn't plan to market their new ride the year it opens. That's just how it works, right?

You, like everyone else, only say Millie is the best because it is the tallest in CP. You said it was on the top of many lists, and why do you think? Everyone will be saying Dragster is the best and it'll be at the top of many lists, too. Everyone says their favorite coaster is Millie because they are proud that they went on it, but they probably have another favorite.
