If you ride Gemini or Mean Streak you can clearly see the area in question. The float storage area can be seen clearly (although it isn't covered, which doesn't make sense to me) and the rest of the area looks pretty undisturbed.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I wouldn't hold my breath on a new ride. Correct me if I'm wrong but the last two times $20+ million has been invested in a ride the following year yielded no new ride. I think that if anything major is done in the offseason it will be the demolition of the aquatic stadium.
Well we did get Wicked Twister in '02 and TTD in '03. Still, when Dick Kinzel said that they would come back with something big in '09, I think that is a blunt tip off we won't be seeing any substantial ride or coaster next year.
I am more hopeful of some in-park upgrades such as new lamp posts along the main midway, better entrance, etc...
Thrills Around the Corner!
I don't know about the rest of you, but if I was going to post a blog about something small I would just come out and say what it is. Saying that, they are teasing us about something. So before we speculate about whether its a ride or a building we should wait till tomorrow and see what they are trying to pump us up for. I am just sayin that CP isn't a teaser without a pleaser.
What ever Cedar Point decides to do I will be pleased. It will benefit the park regardless if they get a new ride or not.

This parade is hardly something small. From what I understand, it's a big hit. A behind-the-scenes look sounds like fun.
I'm not sure I see where there's some over-the-top tantalizing tease, but even if there was, is that bad? There are other things besides a new ride announcement that are cool.
If someone overreacts to something, and is then disappointed, whose fault is it?
Are we honestly doubting that this is anything more than a storage area for the floats?

I still contend that the picture is not of the hole, but of the construction equipment.
Although even that isn't THAT big of a deal.
Goodbye MrScott

So you mean this isn't the 500 footer, darn. :)
I'm really excited about seeing the parade in a few weeks.

So, just woolgathering. Hmm. What would be a good name for a relocated, used Top Spin?
Survivor? Refugee? Orphan? Twixas Tester?
My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
Well, according to CoasterBuzz, ride names don't mean a darn thing. So, I say just call it Top Spin #0001. :)
Seriously though, I would ask Great America what they're going to be naming their relocated, used Top Spin.
ha ha! Really? Thanks. If you didn't know, it was from the Alton advert that ran in the UK. I was quite addicted to it. I thought it was time for a new one, but I'm not quite sure I'm happy with the new one. Maybe Rita will be back? :)
Except they are in Eastern Daylight Time right now.
So are they intentionally lying to us again? ;)
Goodbye MrScott
John
Well I know they are in EST, but I'm sure they want to milk it until the last possible minute. :)
