Someone mentioned that the new site feels like it was designed for Mobile and isn't a good experience on laptop.
Well it probably was and most likely they'll try and get you to use the app as much as possible instead of the website.
From the app they can push notifications and messages directly. As much as they marketed the app last year, its safe to say it will be even more this year. Expect app only offers and deals, the website will be eventually become a less necessary anchor from the past.
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
I think you have it completely backwards. I suspect they'll do away with the app in favor of the site over time, because it's more efficient. Why pay for the development of two completely redundant products?
I don't know about all browsers, but Chrome allows web sites to use notifications even on Android, which is something I would expect to become a standard if it isn't already.
Is there anything the app offers that can't be done via browser? Provided they allow for a user login, the web site could also allow for digital "storage" of your group's season passes, which is far and away my favorite feature of the app.

I used to prefer apps, but now with websites becoming more mobile friendly and offering nearly the same content, I would just prefer to use the website. If I can save storage space and data on my phone, I'll just use the website. I do think they'll keep the app for a while. I like the feature of looking up wait times. I wish they would just roll all the parks into a universal app. That way I don't have to download separate apps for CP, KI, etc.

And really, using Google maps is a much better option, especially if you're mobile and want to find your way to a destination. It looks like they have pretty much everything located.
Oddly, I don't see any way to use the satellite view, which is annoying, but probably an oversight.
You would think so, but Google maps is not updated with the new attractions, especially Cedar Point Shores. For instance, the water park is named correctly, but the map still has the old parking lot (labeled Soak City Parking) and all the old Soak City and Challenge Park food locations and names. The map also shows the old Bon Aire structure. CP should use My Maps to build a custom Google map with updated locations and names.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
The history section is gone, at least as far as I can tell. I always liked how Cedar Point emphasized their history.
As for the layout, about what I would have expected as the trend now is to emphasize the experience on cell phones/mobile devices over computers. While I appreciate having the site better on my phone now, I really dislike how most these new sites feel on my laptop. They underwhelm and use space badly in my opinion on laptops in order to be perfect for cell phones.
If you saw Tony's blog post a few days ago, he said they are still tweaking it and adding things. So the history page could end up being added again as well as some pages that were previously on the old site.

I really hope one of the features that gets restored is the RSS feeds. It is so convenient for me to just check my live bookmarks. That way I know about every blog update very quickly without wasting my time checking for updates. Unfortunately, the old feed went down when the old site was taken offline.
This park history page is still on the new website. It's been moved to the media center. scroll down and you will see it.
