New "Boneyard"

That area next to the lagoons that was filled in, that people were saying is for the next coaster, is actually the site of the new boneyard. You can see it from the train. They moved the chairlift there already, and they've built an earth wall to hide the boneyard from Paddlewheel Excursions.
goes right along with a campers village expansion dont it?
I don't understand why they would throw a bunch of junk inside the park, wall or no wall. Why not just stick it in a warehouse?
Hey, net, do you know the scale of the stuff we're talking about here?
It's considerably cheaper and easier to just pile this kind of stuff (right now it amounts to an old fixed-grip aerial tramway) in a reasonably open area, so that it can be moved and manipulated with forklifts and cranes...and you don't have to worry about whether it will fit through the door... :)

Warehouse space isn't cheap, and there are better uses for that space...items, for instance, which need to be secured, or protected from weather. Old ride parts only need to be secured when there are enthusiasts about :), and they certainly don't need to be protected from the elements...

Also, parking disused stuff inside the park means that it doesn't have to be moved as far should they decide to make use of it at some future time...

Who notes that amusement parks typically never throw anything away...
I think that will be the location of the next coaster. Then again the Skylift came from Dorney and was supposed to be used for Camp Snoopy, maybe they plan on using it to connect the Frontier Trail and Camp Snoopy.

Yep. The boneyard is filled with genuine junk. Such as old tables, signs, chains, ect. My only regret is that it will be harder finding a way to explore the new boneyard. ;) (Or so I think)
Question: Why are there old sky lift chairs in the so called "new boneyard?"
That's what I want to know. Wouldn't they just rust out? I'm not crazy about riding in them if they would put them up. That goes back to what I was saying earlier, isn't there a better spot?
I had the same question but careful reading of the other posts revealed the answer.
Could you get a look at the junk from 182 feet in the air. I'm sure you could.
On MM day 2 when I rode MF, I looked over to the "new boneyard" and I could see the faded blue lift cars. I can not understand why CP would have them. Unless they were to be used soon. :)
net: Actually, I think those tubs are Fiberglas anyway, and the steel frames are painted. If they refurbish the ride in the manner they normally would, you'd never know they weren't new unless you'd seen them in the boneyard.

Feel_The-Force: Yes, in fact, you can. Look to your left on the first crossover; look to your right on the second. :)

CPMaster: Rumor has it the lift was supposed to be used in Camp Snoopy, as Dan suggested.

They have to be using those for something because they would not save skyrides and not use them would thet? They should use them for the boardwalk project! If not that then use it to connect frontier trail and the Gemini Midway down by the Gemini! That would make the walk from the Main to Mganum and gemini much easier! Thats what I think!
