We are going to CP on 5-13, coming up from Ft. Lauderdale where the temperature has been near 90 for awhile now. The last two years we have made the trip to CP in July and August and never gave a thought to the outside temperature. I just checked Accuweather.com and saw that the high next Sat. is forecasted to be 57 (realfeel 52). I can't wait to go 120mph in 50 degree weather! Do any of you have any tips for an early May visit? Maybe making use of lockers to stash an extra sweatshirt or jacket? I know this may seem trivial to those of you who live up north but I just want to make this a great trip for my kids. This will be three visits to CP in as many years.
A cheap tattoo ain't good and a good tattoo ain't cheap.
Bholcomb is absolutely right. Be prepared for any type of weather. I always come in early May and I wear shorts and a t-shirt, but I bring a hooded sweatshirt and some type of sweatpants or pullover pants. Just put em in a locker if you don't need them. You truly never know what you're gonna get on that peninsula in May. I was there last year in early May for three days. The first two:78 degrees, sunny and beautiful. The third:high of 48 degrees with 35-40 mph winds. It's incredible how fast the weather can take a drastic change.
Ding! Ding! Ding! We have another winner! Bring clothes that will keep you warm and clothes that will keep you cool.
You just never know what you'll get.
