Heading up in a few weeks and want to stay on-site. checking recent reviews on Hotel Breakers and they range from disgusting to tear it down and rebuild it. We've never stayed there before so figured I'd ask here to get the real scoop...how bad/good is it?
I've only stayed at Breakers once. I loved it! We had a room close to Soak City...the room was a bit small, but I was just there to sleep.
I recommend it, especially for the fact that you don't have to park in the main lot!
Not bad... really depends on where in Breakers you are staying. The older section is a bit more run down, but the rooms are cheaper, the newer sections are nicer but more expensive - so it really depends on what you're looking for. You can also save some money by staying at Breakers Express, but with that you lose the convenience of being able to walk into the park from your room, as well as the ability to go back to the room in the middle of the day, which is a nice option to have.
We booked a weekend package at Breakers for 4 adults for the last weekend in September in the old section that included tickets for Friday night and Saturday, parking, and the Breakers hotel room for 2 nights, and it was around $500, so $125 per person for the weekend isn't too bad....
The price for Breakers Express and Hotel Breakers' Bon Air Section are usually similar. I would advise not staying at Breakers Express. I tried to stay at Breakers Express this summer, but was so disappointed with the room quality that I left. The room quality in my opinion is better at Hotel Breakers and you get the added bonus of just being steps from the park.

I've stayed in the old section (Bon Air) of Breakers and it isn't too bad. As long as you don't go there expecting a Hampton suite you should be fine. Room has all the basics and is steps away from the park.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
The old section of breakers is much improved over previous years. They have remodeled those room and include amenities such as flat screen TV's.
Breakers express is a joke.
If you want to stay at Breakers Express you might as well stay at Rodehole in or any of the other off-property hotels. Unless the per-ticket savings is really meaningful to you.
Thanks for all the info. We have platinums so we just need a room. Looks like not much of a price difference between Breakers and Sandcastle....just a bit longer walk from Sandcastle.
Double check to make sure Sandcastle is even open the weekend you are looking for. I'm dating myself but that hotel used to close down several weeks before the end of the season so that all guests were consolidated at Breakers.

We always stay at Breakers. Being steps away from the park is worth it, plus we like being on the beach.
We have stayed at Breakers Express and never will again. You still have to drive to the park, and the rooms aren't very nice. Check in lines can be LONG and slow.
Please remain in your seat until the ride comes to a complete and final stop.
