Need some advice

As a few of you may very well know, I'm going to CP for the first time in a bit more than two weeks. My brother is too lazy to take me out there (I'm in Alabama), so I'm using Greyhound to go out there by myself. I will be out there on June 19, 20, 21, and 22. The Mecca Motel is where I'll be staying (only place I can stay in because other hotels have a 21 year old reservation age restriction, the Mecca is only 18). Plus the Mecca has shuttle service. Yay. I'll need some advice from the experts on how to enjoy my time out there. First a few questions:

1. I'm obviously going to bring my camcorder and my 35mm camera with me. When I'm in the loading dock, is there some sort of shelf I can put my belongings in? They have these at the Six Flags parks (at least at the two I've been to, SFMM and SFOG), as well as my home park, Visionland. Or can you get one of the ride ops to hold them for you? If not, I can rent a locker and put them in there.

2. How much are the lockers anyway?

3. I'm hearing from a lot of websites that CP's lines move very fast. Most say you won't have to wait longer than two hours for any one ride (except TTD, obviously). Is this true?

4. Just how is the weather out there for June? Is there a chance that they'll be an all day washout? Or will there be just a 5-10 minute shower occasionally? I'll obviously be checking the weather.

I may have some more questions when I think of them, so be prepared. Any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

1) There are only shelves for Wicked Twister, Mantis, and Raptor. All the others you have to put in a locker.

2) The locers are $1 (you have to use the gold coin) for the one time use ones, or I believe $5 for unlimited use at the front of the park.

3) Ya, thats pretty much true. Even Dragster has shorter waits then 2 hrs (for the most part). Freeway is the way to go.

4) Check weather before you go. The weather out there changes so fast it isn't even funny. Ive gone in June when it was hot in the day and by 7 I was freezing. Be prepared for all weather...

Have fun at CP. It's the greatest place on Earth...

Got two more questions:

5. How long does it take for CP to process your season's pass? Because I'm thinking about getting one with a JCC membership.

6. What do they actually do when they process your pass?

Any and all help is appreciated.

Processing your pass takes about 5 minutes.

They ask for you name, address, and whatnot, then take your picture and stick in into a card. After that you go on in the park. Very simple.

5) It really depends on when you do it. It had been a long time (2 or so hrs) but now it seems to slow down. But just be ready for anything

6) First you wait in line at the side of the SP building to pay for and sign your certificates. You need to wait even if you have certificates b/c they fill stuff out. Then you go to the back to get a picture taken. You then walk through the building to get your card.

1) Like Strech said, only shelves for Wicked Twister, Mantis and Raptor.

2) All day lockers are $3 plus a $5 deposit you get back when you return the key. They are unlimited access, of course. One time use lockers are $1.

3) Depends on the day/weather/etc. The rides at the front of the park are busy early and the ones in the back are busy late. Raptor and Wicked Twister get down to 10 minute waits durring the day. Dragster will be the longest wait, expect to wait 2+ hours. Millennium Force is next 1- 1 and 1/2 hour wait is average.

4) In June anything can happen. Expect it to be hot in the day and cool/cold at night. Rain in Ohio is hard to say, bring some kind of rain jacket just in case and check the forcast before you go.

5) Not long once you get later into the year. For a pass to be worth it you should be going 3 or more times to the park.

6) As Stretch said again.

Just two more questions, hopefully. Bear with me, as I'm a CP rookie:

7. What channel out in Sandusky has the local forecasts? I know there's the Weather Channel, but I'ma need one that's Ohio only. And what time in the morning does it come on?

8. Do you buy a season's pass while at the ticket booth or do you buy those at the SP center?

Thanks for yall's help so far.

The Weather Channel on channel 15 does pretty good with the local forecast on the 8's of every hour. Only the temperature is usually off a couple of degrees because the park is surrounded by water and the local forecast is based on Toledo. As for local news channels 3, 5, 8, and 19 give local weather based out of Cleveland, the morning shows come on at varying times between 5 and 6 a.m. and run untill some time around 9. Channels 11 and 13 are based out of Toledo and the same times for news/weather apply to those.
Check this site for local weather:

Just one more question, then I should be ready. I can buy a JCC at the SP center, right? If so, then I'm ready to go. If not, where do I get the JCC membership?
Yes, at the SP center, same time you are buy the season pass.

if you go to newsnet5.com (site for a cleveland news channel and go into the weather section, they have the best forcasts for the area. they have every weather map you can imagine, and they also do cedar point's offical forecast

I can assure you that Channel 5 is not anywhere close to having the most accurate forecast. This is about as good as it gets for a Sandusky forecast. The park gets their 'official' forecast from a private weather forecasting company.

Ironically, the NewsNet5 forecast isn't even their own - it's from the National Weather Service - the same as in the link I provided.

If you want maps, check out accuweather.com.
