Need Help From Cedar Point Experts

Hello, I am a new ACE member planning to make my first trip to Cedar Point in 15 years. I am considering doing CoasterMania on June 2, 2000. My concern is that I want to ride the coasters as much as possible. Should I go to CoasterMania or would I be better off going another day in May or June when the crowd may be smaller. I would appreciate any input from the CP Place crowd on which day would have the shortest lines.

Thank you.

(I realize that I would save about $12 by going on June 2)
Well, it only makes sense to go to coastermania because that means you will have ridden MF, Raptor, Magnum, and Mantis without waiting in line with the GP. This gives you more time for the rest of the coasters.
There are good reasons to go Coastermania but short lines isn't one of them. If I was only going to get one shot at CP this year (what a horrible thought) I would go on a weekday the first week they are open in May. If you go on Tuesday or Wednesday that week you should get the shortest lines you will see all year.

I have to agree with Tim-the ERT is not worth making Coastermania your only CP of the year!!!
The park gets PACKED that day and you can anticipate long waits-and the evening ERT is usually more of a wait than the A.M. ERT was.
So plan on another trip for your first visit in 15 years-Coastermania is fun-but if you want to ride ALL the coasters and ALL the other rides-PICK another day!!

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
If you go during a week day at the very end of the season (in october) there are sometimes no lines at all. Espically if light rain is forcasted. I went last october the whole way there it rained but right when we got in the park it stoped and the longest like I stood in was 5 min. I know Dave can back be up on that one i remeber talking to him about that on this msg board back in october. The weather maybe kind of cruddy but I bet you the ride time will rock.

In October the part isnt open during the week-
only on Friday nights and the weekends. I was there for both Halloweekend Friday nights this past year (and the year before) dont forget that 1/2 of the park isnt open on the Friday nights-
so if you go in anticipation of riding coasters be prepared to only ride Raptor and Mantis.
(Which was fine by me anyway but that doesnt necessarilly means it would be ok for everyone!)

The best time to go for short lines are weekdays in May, during the first two weeks of operation. Many of the coasters will be a walk-on, with no line at all.
The last two years, I have gone to CP the week after Memorial Day (on a Tuesday or Wednesday). I can verify that there minimal lines for all of the rides. We did wait 50 minutes for the Raptor, but I think that was a fluke because 2 hours later the line was less then 20 minutes. All of the kids are still in school so it is a great time to go.
