Nauseating Maxair suggestion

I think Maxair is a fun ride up until the point of slowdown. I think that most
of my sickness came when the spinning kept going at high rate of speed while the
pendulum motion was slowing down. My brother stated the same thing. He said he was
fine until the ride started the slow down on the swingin but it still kept spinning
at the same rate of speed. I thimk the ride would be more enjoyable if during the
slowdown the spinning could either decrease or even stop all together. It has become
one of those rides that I "want" to like but just can't. The last time I rode Maxair,
it was my first ride of the day and created a headache that lasted the ENTIRE day. I
Have not ridden it in 2 years because of the bad feeling I got from it. Dont get me
wrong, I am not a wuss and can marathon Mean Streak 10 times if need be. :)

Sounds like you need to stay away from certain rides you don't like ,,,The fast spin at Maxair is Great ,, ummm 'Keeps you moving' LOL

MaXair would make me SO sick. I don't know how people ride rides like that.

During those slowdowns, close your eyes...you'll be marathoning like Coastermania maXair ERT after that...

I used to love Max Air without getting nauseous...now I can barely get through a ride. I closed my eyes the whole ride last time, and I think it made it worse.

I think the ride cycle is longer now? Seems about 2 or 3 swings too long, but I'm sure there are those that like the increased time. I'll have to pass on it from now on... Skyhawk is still game though.

I've rode maXair, and Delirium many times, never had a problem with them. I just make sure to keep my eye's looking straight out, and not woundering around while its spinning.

^Same here on the eyes trick. I love MaXair even though sometimes I don't get off feeling the way I did when I got on. Nothing some asprin cant take care of though.

Let's Get Weird.

The Witches Wheel makes me feel the exact same way if I don't close my eyes near the end of the ride, it still feels like I'm spinning, but I don't get that nausious feeling in my stomach.

Wow, interesting that I'm not alone. My girlfriend and I have ridden Delirium at Kings Island before without any problems, but we both felt nauseous at what seemed like the same moment toward the end of the ride cycle on Maxair. It was weird. Interesting to know that others have had the same feeling toward the end of the ride.

The end of the ride is what gets me too, I used to love that ride but last year was my last ride. I puked my guts out afterward in bathroom behind the Spiral, I don't think it helped that I took 4 rides in a row on Raptor right before.
Spinney things and me don't get along, I can't read in a car either, other than that I am good to go on everything else.

I have always said the slowing down makes me sick too! I'm glad I'm not the only one who has this sensation. I'm going to the park tomorrow and going to try the eye closing trick.

EXACTLY! It is the END of the ride cycle that makes me sick.

Now that I think about it, at the end of ride during the slow down period I do feel different.

I know after I get off MF I feel sick ... I do not know what i was thinking waiting a 1/2 for that. ;)

I went on Maxair one time and I have not gone on it since because of the nauseating feeling it gave me. It came at the end of the ride for me as well. I had to take a 2 hour break before I could ride anything else because I would have gotten sick. To give you an idea I am normally a person who does not even get any food besides a pretzel/cheese or a funnel cake because I go ride to ride to ride......but Maxair did me in. For those that say its just that type of ride I'd have to disagree because I have been on gravitron and many other spinning flat rides without too much problem. Maxair is a pretty cool ride but I think the ride is a one and done for this guy.

Maxair is so relaxing, if I were permitted to reride (and were given a pillow), I could easily nap for an hour as it cycled.

Yes but on gravitron you can't really visually sense that you're spinning. You're isolated to the inside of the ride.

Agreed :) I love the ride because I feel like a kid on the swing set again! I prefer MaxAir to Skyhawk because of the differing gravity on each swing.

EDIT: I couldn't figure out how to do two separate quotes. One of them always shows up blank.

I need Dramamine just to watch the maXair POV video. :)

The end of the ride cycle on MaxAir makes me sick as well. I just avoid it all together. However, I rode it the other day and there was little to no spinning at the end of the ride cycle. Either way, Dramamine works!
