National Roller Coaster Day,Thursday August 16

Anybody know if CP is doing anything.

Knotts,Dorney,Kings Island have an event. Many of the Six Flags parks are acknowledging it.plus many of the other parks around the country.

It’s America’s Roller Coast everyday, they don’t need a day for it.

Part of me kinda hopes not because that's one of the days I might have available to go and I would rather it not be any more crowded than it already is. Of course now that my car is peeing transmission fluid Thursday may not be as convenient as it seemed a few hours ago.

Unfortunately unlike last year, when we had Cedar Fair announcing their new coasters in 2018, that's not the case this year. Unless, CF has a sneaky 3rd coaster that they kept completely under wraps. Wonderland is announcing on the 15th and Carowinds the 30th

So if I renew my platinum pass at the park during Halloweekends, I won't get a free Fast Lane Plus like previous years? The offer ends on August 19th? I'm not too happy about that if that's the case. By the way, is the Season Pass Center closed for the year? I think I read somewhere on CP's website that it closed last month.

Its says that this particular offer ends the 19th, with that particular price and those particular benefits (FL+ & BAF Tickect).

They very well may offer the same, a different, or no offer at all during Halloweekends. It's your gamble to take, They are offering the payment plan so I can't understand being upset by it.

Season Pass center did close in July, because after 147 seasons of operating they finally figured out that after processing the bulk of passes early in the season they can save a bunch of payroll by processing passes at the gates.

The text "buy between August 16-19, 2018" is in the paragraph about new passes. The one about renewals doesn't give dates for when the purchase has to happen. If you read both paragraphs together, it's easy to interpret the renewal offer also being valid only through this Sunday. I replied to CP's tweet to ask for clarification this morning, but haven't gotten a response.

Another question about new passes: It says "Additional 2018 Visits available for $14.99." Does that mean each additional visit is $15, or that you can get the entire remainder of the 2018 season for $15? I would assume it's the former (otherwise, wow what a bargain!), but some friends of mine thought it was the latter.

I would at least take a guess that they will extend the offer, as CP as done with pretty much every offer they have had this year. How long it would go, I would have no clue. I can say last year I renewed my pass first HalloWeekends Friday 9/15 and still got the free FL and bring a friend ticket.

I can't remember next year's platinum passes being available this early in the year. Seems to be it's usually right after labor day or coincides with the beginning of HW.

Email I received yesterday indicates:

Seems to me the price has the weekend limit to it (though that isn't clear because it says renew "today"). Fast Lane and Bring a Friend are available if you renew before October 28. At least as I read the email.

Checking my old email, it seems to be pretty much the same deal as last year only a month earlier.

I renewed our passes online last night, but I did notice that the Season Pass office is open today.

I remember last year you could renew passes day of SV announcement so it was this early too. The price remained the same the following month. They did the exact same advertising too saying lowest price of year if you do it now and ended up lasting longer.
