National Advertising

I caught my first Cedar Point "Best on the Planet..." television commercial here in Las Vegas last night. Is this the first year CP has advertised nationally? It's nice to see they're marketing to areas who normally are only exposed to advertising from SFMM, Disneyland and IOA.

When I did a CP commercial for the company a few years ago, I could have sworn that they were doing only local commercials. Maybe things have changed since then.

I have seen a couple commercials on some national cable networks as well, i think one of them was TNT or TBS...

Yeah, I believe this is the first year that they are advertising nationally, at least in recent memory.

I saw one here in Iowa. I had to do a double take to make sure that's what I was actually seeing...

I saw one too here in Georgia. My friend saw it on ABC Family, so I turned it to ABC Family and waited for it to come on, and it did. Full House was on, so I just recorded it, so now it's staying on my TiVo.

Saw it on 6/21 in Indianapolis while I was there for a conference. It was on one of the local news channels during their first break in the 11:00 news.

Have they not always advertised in Indianapolis? I remember seeing a TV crew from there at the park last year.

I think they also advertised on some cable channels last year. I remember my sister in southern Illinois commenting that she saw a commercial for "that one park you live by" on the satellite.

We see them often, here in West Michigan. The ads you see far from the Point are probably not national, just spot buys in that market. Spot buys can generate a lot of income for a regional cable company.

We have DirecTV, who I don't think does those commercial placements like cable companies do. We've seen Cedar Point commercials on E!. If they are DirecTV buys, I don't see how they'd be regional ... but what do I know.

No, you're right, because I don't see them either on the networks suggested above.

I have comcast digital cable, and it comes on ABC Family a lot.

Just because it's on TV, doesn't mean it's true. :)

Spot Buys on Locals happen just as much as Buys on cable. CP has just done the next best thing to national...they're buying the local market, selectivly. Those are local buys, which are much cheaper for he park, BTW.

My brother says he recently saw a Cedar Point commercial on the Travel Channel. I live in Central Illinois, 400 miles from sandusky. I still have yet to see a Cedar Point commercial for myself, but he swears it was an actual commercial. If so that would definatley be a first for my area. Keep in mind that I have only basic cable, nothing fancy like digital or satellite or any of that.

im in northern new york and i have seem them. The "na na na na na" commercial and the one that talks about the resorts and best place to be a kid AGAIN.

I live in Windsor and on cable we get CTV (Canadian Television) which i believe is based in Kitchener and/or Toronto and I have seen the Best ______ on the Planet commercial a few times this year.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I saw a C.P. commercial about a week ago here in Salt Lake City.

Include Los Alamos, New Mexico on the list. It was like a flashback to living in the Detroit area when I saw the commercial this morning.
