Names that got cut...

After reading the thread "The Million Dollar Question", somebody said Magnum was originally going to be called Psycadelica. And as we all know Mantis was orginally going to be called, and was announced as, Banshee. Has CP leaked what any other names were thought of for rides?

Also...

A while ago somebody posted about a  CP employee giving a survey about possible ride names (Ballistic, Wicked Twister, Twister...) Not saying that these are true, we will be able to tell what the next ride's name rejects were....

Corkscrew was rumored to be called The Great Lake Erie Roller.  I'm not sure which one I like better.

I'd heard about Lake Erie Roller too, but I think I prefer Corkscrew -- sounds like more fun, less like a '20s ride.

I was surveyed, the names were Ballistic Twister, Wicked Twister, The Fury, Vektron, and Gale Force.

I think just the word Ballistic would be cool, but I think we might want to stay away from Force names, at least for a few years.

Those first 3 sound completely like woodies, but the last two sound like steel coaster names.

Does anyone know rejected MF names?

Wheres the Electricity!

Actually Jeff, wasn't Magnum closed more often that MF the first year it opened?  I remember Magnum being alot in 1989.

MF...taking thrills to new heights!
I think the chain broke upwards of 5 times or so because it was so massive in 1989... not sure though.

I do remember multiple shots of walk downs on the news.

Actually, Twister + Wicked Twister could be steel names too.   Think Intamin Heartline or (very unlikey) Arrow Pipeline.

Ballistic...I like that for a Wild Mouse-type coaster.
Vectron and Gale Force sound cool.  Sound kind of "Thrust Airish" to me...;)
I think they gave 4 names. Ballistic Twister, Wicked Twister, Vektron, and Gale Force.
Is it just me, or does there seem to be a distinct difference between the first 2 and the last 2? To me, the first two sound like woodie names, and the last two sound like futuristic names like for a TA2K.

Personally, I like Ballistic (don't care for the "Twister" part, but it could grow on me) and Vektron. They sound like they could go together. They both sound extreme, but they also sound like names for 2 entirely different coasters.

In a financial point of view, a CCI woodie and a TA2K wouldn't cost that much. Just a possibility that I hope will come true.
