Names on Maverick trains?

I searched for answers to this, but couldn't find an answer. However, I apologize if this has been asked/answered before.

Anyway, I was just wondering what the story is behind the names on Maverick's trains?

Aren't they the names of characters on the Maverick TV series? I could be horribly mistaken, but thats what Ive been told.
