I want a floorless, I miss Dominator!

I like the brown-colored track. Brown as in wood! CP needs a new woodie. And I think implenting Millennium Island would be a great location for one. Although I also liked the idea of converting the area by DT and WT into a "boardwalk"-esque midway highlighted by a woodie that would replace DT. I just don't see it happening any time soon.

I too would love to see a wooden go there (or somewhere). All we can do is now is dream.:)

That would be an awfully tight squeeze for a wooden coaster. Especially if it were to be something that would raise the bar, or impress coaster lovers.

Unless it was a junior wooden coaster.

I personally say no to wood. Even the best wood coasters are too painful with todays modern technology.

Shivering Timbers is fun when you go straight.....and only straight. Just a waste of space, they take up too much room.

You have clearly never been on a GCI MF train, or on a good wooden twister. Wooden coasters do not always equal pain, just because Mean Steak is bad does not mean any wooden coaster that executes more then two turns is painful.

I want El Toro, and I want it now.

Sheesh. A skunk gets in my crawl space and I have to evacuate the house for a week, and when I finally get back online this is what I find?

Clearly we are witnessing the groundbreaking for Kinzel's retirement castle.

^New for 2010, Kinzel Kastle!!!;)

Sorry to hear about the skunk Mike. I bet it "stunk" having to leave your house.

And as for the likeliness of a wooden, just look at how crazy Intamin prefabs are. They could totally do it with the given space. Though I think it's safe to say that's not what were getting. I mean, who wants another intamin?...........

P.S.- Did anyone see the way I cleverly slipped that joke?;)

Well its a pretty good sized area they got cleared so almost anything is possible. A nice new woodie would be great there, but a steel would too...it looks possible to maybe take a steel track between Woodstock Express and CCM kinda like Magnum and shoot it toward Magnum. But who knows?Just a thought.

There's enough roller coasters. A new flume or dark ride would
be fantastic.

I would love to see a Floorless like the Dominator myself! That is an awesome ride! I wish they would have put it there! It would be cool to have a floorless that interlocked through the other coasters and over the water! That would be a blast!

Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs

That would be cool to see a nice size Floorless in that area. Especially next to Mantis. I would've loved to have seen Mantis converted into a Floorless, but a few of you on Pointbuzz told me last year that would never happen so scratch that idea. I agree with dsloban though about how it would be really neat to have it go through existing coasters through Millennium Force, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, and maybe close to Mantis.

That would be a one interesting design. My thought though would be, what would they do with their storage area? You ever notice when you ride Millennium Force and your coming over the last airtime hill, you see a bunch of old ride parts? Unless they are planning on making a storage area during the season and build the new ride in 2010. That's a thought.

Some of you think that area is not large enough for a major coaster, and I don't understand that. Fill in the lagoon, add the boneyard and the area cleared on the island, and that's a huge sum of land. Even if the lagoon is not filled in, getting creative on the Frontier Trail will allow for a sizable coaster.

For me personally, I don't want a floorless as I was on Dominator many times. Great ride and concept, but I want something fresh. Still hoping for a wooden like Thunderhead at Dollywood (which would fit in that space with no problem). CP does not have a wooden coaster like this... fantastic ride!

The park has enough coasters for now, and needs to focus on variety,
such as building attractions the whole family can enjoy. I'm still
an enthusiast, but don't think CP feels obligated to constructing
a new roller coaster for a every major addition. Many people I've talked
to from the general crowd just don't see CP as that once great summer
destination anymore. Sure, there are rides for families, but not many.
When was the last time a ride for the whole family was constructed? The park
has to balance it out.

It was no "bed of roses", I can certainly tell you. Bah, I'm just getting to the point where I can laugh about it. It's a disaster I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

As far as the coaster vs family ride debate goes, there are a number of options to do both:

(1) junior woodie, as someone mentioned. How about a pint-sized GCI. How wild could that be?

(2) spinning mouse. I'm not convinced these things can't be designed with good capacity. If need be, make it a dueling spinning mouse.

(3) junior launch, like Pony Express at KBF or Moto-Coaster at Darien Lake.

(4) combination dark ride/coaster.

(5) water coaster.

There are any number of possibilities of accomplishing both missions, which I think would be smart planning.

^ I agree, what are the rides that the ENTIRE family can ride together? I'm talking your little 36 incher's, Mom and Dad, and maybe even Grandma and Grandpa.

Space Spiral, Giant Wheel, Sky Ride, Paddlewheel, the Train, & the Carousel.

We miss White Water Landing... :(

Yeah, but why does it have to be a roller coaster? Your #4 idea already exists with DT. CP could use a dark ride or flume, not water coaster, a flume.

Back a few posts, totally agree with that being a big chunk of land, and it'd be awesome to have something that is built over the 'into the lake' drop on CCMR to give it a little head-chopper action.
