maybe they did what kings island did with diamondback and used the footers as planters so no one would notice?

And planted weeds in them?
KI did that to, what, one footer that was situated in the midway? Its pretty unlikely that CP would do that for footers that hardly anyone would notice anyway.

I'd be a little more curious about what a planter was doing on Millenium Island than I would about them pouring a footer.
It'd be interesting to find out how the footer got there. Cedar Point isn't that secretive to be hauling in tons of construction equipment after the park empties at night and having it gone by morning. There was nothing there when the season started, there's nothing new there now.

If it is going to be a new water ride of some type (mega flume, aquatrax) then there is going to be no real rush to get it open by opening day. It is awfully cool still at that time of year to be getting on a water ride.
If they are going to be able to incorporate the lagoon of SRF into the design then that is less work that needs to be done as well. Now, it will be interesting to see if cranes start moving in after Labor Day to dismantle SRF.
I wonder if SRF is in that bad a shape or...could it possibly be moved to Soak City? I know that is a whim but it probably should have been in SC from day one.

Ok, well...considering dj's post about the FB entry my water ride idea seems to have lost some merit in less than a minute.

Could it possibly be a new habitat for the bay-gulls? A bay-gull show could be fun. They have been missing a show like that since they took out Jungle Larry!
Maybe, maybe not, Chief. CP's Twitter post of "AquaTrax?" would conflict with this, though that one included a question mark...
Brandon
Just saw the Twitter post myself. Tony just loves to play with our minds.
I will be there tonight and tomorrow so I will see if anything new has been marked.

I've wondered that as well, but I find it unlikely. SRF has been around for 16 years now, and it aint gettin' any younger, or any more popular, even with more people presumably in the back of the park to ride Maverick.
And with the suggestions that maintenance costs are becoming an issue, it would seem that the cost of carefully dismantling the ride, and re-erecting it in SC would be rather high, as compared to the cost of building something newer & more modern in terms of thrill level.

SRF is really starting to look run down as WWL was before it got pulled out. I wouldn't be surprised to see SRF go by Halloweekends.
I didn't catch on to the GCI thing till you guys pointed that out, I'm sure its all just part of the teasing, but you never can tell.

Well... I think there's one phrase that could describe Cedar Point right now, and Chris Farley said it best, " YOU VICIOUS BASTARDS!" :)
Wow. Never seen "may get reamed" "i have to" and "in two men" all in the same post before. Not even on the less savory message boards. Well done.
