My Trip is coming up and I need advice

Okay, I posted this before but for some reason I can't get to the old topic and bring it back up to date. Like I said before, this will be my first time driving to Cedar Point alone (I am 17). The trip is planned for Sunday, which is Memorial Day weekend. What are the best directions. I know in the past, the people I rode with took the turnpike but I went to the website and they said take I-75 to something else and now I am discombobulated. What will the crowds be like? What is your advice for driving home. How much do you generally spend on a day's trip?

It would be nice to know where you were coming from...

I want to drive the Zamboni!

Take I-75 to the Turnpike east, exit at Rt. 250, go north and follow the signs to CP.

It's very hard to drink all day...
Unless you start first thing in the morning.

One bit of advice for driving home - since it's your first time alone, I would leave the park a little early and try to get home by dark. You can really underestimate how tiring a day at CP can be, and the last thing you want while driving is to be tired.

250 is pretty well tore up down by the Turnpike. I'd take the Turnpike (I-80) east to exit 6A (SR-4). Go north (left) about 5 miles to SR-2. Turn right (east) on SR-2 and go about 4 miles to 250 (Milan Rd.). You'll turn left (north) on 250. Follow the signs from there - it's pretty obvious.

It really isn't that hard to get there. It's marked very well.

Without upstops, airtime would have a whole new meaning!

And now from the old fart. We drive down regularly from Plymouth/Canton.

I take I-275 which connects to I-75. Then I take 280 to SR-2 (Oregon Exit) Turn left and just stay on SR-2 until you see the signs for CP. Best bet is to take SR-2 to 250. The construction is SOUTH of SR-2 so you completely miss it by taking SR-2.

Now, some people say they can't stand to be behind trucks on SR-2, but it is 4 lanes at least 3/4 of the way, and you'll see very few trucks on a Sunday. Not to mention any trucks I've ever been behind (rarely) travel above the speed limit.

My son will be getting his driver's license this summer, and this is the route I'm advising for him.

Is there anyway I can find out about contruction on my way to or from Cedar Point?

Sorry, I don't other than that as I don't live in Ohio. Dealing with PennDOT is worse enough.
