My MF Morning 7-13

Hi,

This morning I was lucky enough to ride MF 12 consecutive times. I rode at least once in each car, and I must say that it REALLY does make a difference where you sit.

My first ride was in the second row of the first car...a really, really great ride. From there it was off the train and right back to the loading station to the front seat. FINNALY !!! There is NOTHING like the front seat on this ride, I cannot even compare the speed and smoothness to anything else I have ridden.

From there I work my way back, the intenisty of the ride seems to fall of just a tad near the center of the train. Lots of air everywhere, but the front was by far the best experience. I enjoyed the rear seats, but still preffer the front.

Also one other neat thing I noticed that was really cool. In the morning, 7am-8am the sun is positioned perfectly to reflect the entire first hill on the Bay. Looking down on the bay goin up the lift it looks like the MF logo was painted on nearly the entire bay!! It was soooo cool!!

I can say for certain that I was blessed by the Roller Coaster God's this morning, a once in a lifetime thing for sure.! :)

Ok...what gives? How'd you pull that off? ERT for employees or something?? Just curious =)

Sounds like a television event. I've been on the ride at dawn, and must say that it is an odd experience. The lighting is so strange. I've got a nice photo that Steph shot the morning of media day at sunrise with the final turn, Mantis' top and Corkscrew with the sun coming up in to a pink sky. Very cool.

It was the photo shoot for next years brochure. Employes were asked to show up at 7am both Wed & Thurs.

No hands up and PLEASE do not look directly at the camera!!! Which we all did when we spotted it just after the bunny hop :)

Word is that next week we can do the same on Gemini.

I've wondered how they found enough people for those photos that would voluntarily ride with their hands on the bar. Now, tell me, did they use the carrot or the stick? Was it, "Everyone who keeps their hands down gets to ride for the rest of the morning." Or, "If you put your hands up you're working Frog Hopper the rest of the season!"

Well, they could put their hands up for the whole ride, just put them down by the bunny hop, but then they would probably get in trouble.

It's hard to fight the temptation... really hard. Still, you'll find several of the CP Place personalities on Discovery this fall, hands down!

The problem is that little trigger at the top of the hill on the trip back from the island...you know, where something happens that knocks *everybody's* hands into the air...

To get to ride 12 consecutive times, they could tie my hands to the assist bar with string for all I care.
Haha, I was sleeping on a boat in the Marina and I think the first time I heard MF go down the hill I was awake! :) Too bad all I could do was stare at it and take pictures. I got ready and got in line at the Marina gate at 8:45 and got in right away at 9 and I was on within 15 minutes. Guess I should just be happy with that, but man, are you lucky! :) I'll be posting a trip report tomorrow probably...

What could be better than Y2K @ Cedar Point - America's Rockin' Roller Coast?
