Also in the Lorain Morning Journal (http://www.morningjournal.com). Luckily, they've redesigned their website, and it's much easier to navigate.
I'm surprised Sea World hasn't filed for chapter 11 yet. Maybe Anheusher-Busch is using it as a tax write-off.

"Magnum is very good value!" -- A RCT Guest on Magnum
Why? Sea World is a beautiful, well run park, that gets better attendance than Geauga Lake. I think Sea World is doing just fine, and is adding a major attraction this year called Bermuda Triangle.
I just patronized Bay Harbor Inn after getting my parking pass (it reopened this past Wednesday). I am sad to report that its prices, too, have taken quite a hike.
Walt Disney World price seems higher than Millennium Force this year. They also ditched the "Tweener" ticket. I am just glad Michigan's Adventure didn't go up much this season.
Since the economy is in such a boom-time, I guess all the parks are counting on it to continue through the summer. This makes sense then that everyone is raising prices...
I know this doesn't really qualify as a real amusement park but I just got back from the I-X Indoor Amusement Farce, Err Park, and ended up spending more money there in 5 hours than I do in an entire day at Cedar Point. There is a 15 dollar admission, which isn't bad until you get in there and find out half of their rides are called "Special Attractions" where you have to pay an additional dollar to ride or enter. They have like 6 or 7 Fun House type attractions that each cost $1, take 60 seconds to walk through, and they are all pretty much the same thing, lame. A small 10 oz. pop is $1.50 and of course is filled 3/4 of the way with ice (but that is most places I guess). I could go on but I know most people already know about getting ripped off at these types of places. I don't mind paying high prices at parks like CP because the rides and scenery are totally amazing and you get some bang for your bucks. But that "Special Attractions" is a load of crap. Believe me, there is nothing "Special" about them. I should have known better but it still makes me mad.

"Sir, Shouldn't You Buckle Up First?"
"Aaahhh BUCKLE THIS! LUDICROUS SPEED, GO!!!!!"-Spaceballs
Friday there was an article in the Chronicle Telegram (Elyria) about the rising costs of admissions across the country. Someone, I can't remember who, from CP make a great point. One fun day admission costs about the same as one pro football or baseball game that lasts only two or three hours. I too was a little upset to see the drastic price increase but it is still well worth the price, for CP.
parrothead, I agree pro sports are not worth the money for the amount of entertainment you get out of them. I love Redwings hockey but I haven't been to a game in at least 10 years because it is ridiculous how much you have to spend for 3 1/2 hours of entertainment.
CP on the other hand costs roughly $39 for upwards of 12 hours. definately worth the amount of money as compared to pro sporting events.
and it's not only the amount of hours but the quzntity and quality of the entertainment. At a ball game you game may get extremely excited only once or twice, maybe several times but still not near as much as at CP. You just can't beat the value of your monsy at CP
