My CP-free day

LuvRaptor's avatar
By choice or none no matter how hard I try there doesn't seem to be a day that goes by that I don't think about CP. Here was yesterday. I sign on my computer, oh look, Raptor wallpaper. I am listening to the MF theme for the ga-zillionith time while reading email from my CP and GOCC buds-talking about-what else? ;) I click on my 1st "my favorites" on AOL, it brings up a site called "Guide to the Point." ;) I decide which CP sweatshirt to wear under my CP jacket. I head for the deputy registers office, write out a $93.03 Raptor check (yes my checks do have Raptor on them) for my "CU AT CP" license plates. Of course the woman just HAD to ask me what it meant.
On way to barn radio plays "What I like about you"..hmmm...where have I heard THAT song? ;) At barn notice the wind blowing through the trees sounds remarkably like the B&M roar (except at Dorney! :)) While riding I hear "I feel lucky"...hmmm...where have I heard THAT song? ;)
Decided one of my horses could use a new halter, what about green and pink? Later I get ready for work, putting on my work id which consists of, my CP employee tag, my 2001 season pass, my 2000 season pass, a leather Raptor keychain and then my "real" work id. My name plate at work actually says "Raptor Jo", my desk has tons of CP pics, even on the cubicle walls, there are Raptor stickers on my terminal, all my work related papers have something CP on them, including my daily stat sheets that get turned in. On break I overheard a coworker say "I really liked that one Santana song the first 100x I heard it but I can not remember the name of it" I said "let me guess, "Smooth?" I passed someone in the hall who asked me how many more days til CP opens, without hesitation I said 115. During a work related discussion someone asked me "so what's your point?" a team mate immediately replied "Cedar Point, that's her point man, dont you know that?"
A coworker accused me of liking "Monsters, Inc" so much because, "the door scene was just like riding a roller coaster." Not true-although I will admit that scene WAS pretty awesome!! :)
I can answer internal calls "Cedar Point, Raptor Jo" and NO one fliches.
Night over....finally in truck on way home
Suddenly on the radio I hear "Smooth"
I'm back on the midway again!!
So despite "having a life" and not being obsessive about my fav place on earth apparently there is no such thing as a "CP free day" for me!
But ya know that's really ok by me! :)

I've heard Mariah Carry's "Dream Lover" so many times near the end of the day at the park, and frequently on the way out after park close. Now, when I hear it on the radio I get choked up.
I want raptor checks too please do tell where you got them from!
$93.03 for those wonderful Ohio vanity plates...but worth every penny isn't it, Joe? :o)

I know that drill all too well...had to lay down most of a week's pay just for my Ohio plates this year. I swear they get more and more expensive each year. That's not to say you will see me give mine (CP4ME) up any time soon though ;o)

I keep having to remind myself James that the 93.03 is worth it! (Although I did consider for one sec getting "RPTR JO" this year but then opted against it) I actually see them more of a "advertisement" plate than "vanity" :) It doesn't help when the state of Ohio charges you by weight either, my truck is a cow, over 5K lbs!

Raptor checks for me--none for you!
J/K :) :) :)
I order my checks from a company called "Message Products" (I don't have their info readily availiable but am sure they have a website) I even have "Get to the Point-Cedar Point" on my checks below the signature line. I've had them for 3 years now. The only downfall is they are VERY expensive, with shipping and handling a box of checks costs me over $30.00.

OK-I dish out 93.03/year for CP license plates
Over 30.00/quarterly for CP checks
I need help, don't I? ;)
