My 2007 Coaster Study Results

This year I kept track of all my coaster riding. As shown in my Signature. I was lucky enough to go to Kings Island, Carowinds, Geauga Lake and Cedar Point this year.

Although, I have been to Cedar Point about 10 times. All the other parks I have only been to once this year. So I can only rate Cedar Point's Coasters.

My Top 5 coasters at Cedar Point - Based solely on Ridership are as follows:

#1 Raptor - 18 rides (But 8 of them were because of the special Joe Cool ERT Morning)

#2 Maverick - 12 rides (I was not able to go to its ERT special Day) My guess is Maverick would have been #1 had I gone.

#3 Millenium Force - 10 rides

3 way tie for #4 - Dragster, Magnum, & WT = 9 rides

#5 Mean Streak (This one is a shocker) = 8 rides (I absolutely HATE Mean Streak, but I keep riding it, and hope that some day I will get a good ride on it)

That day happened 10-28-07 - Closing Day - I decided to wait for a front seat ride, green train, (2 rides that day) both in front of the green train... I got air time, the brakes were on hard down the 1st hill, no hard banging, yes I got thrown around, but nothing painful. I actually had two good rides on Mean Streak. WOW!

Mantis fell short by 1 ride this year. I really thought all my Top 5 coasters would be steel, because I am not a wood coaster person. But there you have it.

What was the study?

I rarely have a "BAD" ride on Mean Streak. I don't usually get good rides though.

It was just a personal study, I did myself, kept track of my riding. (my signature disappeared) hum :(

Even if you went to the ERT, you wouldn't have been able to.. depending on which day you went. If it was for Joe Cool.. we only got in 3-4 rides.. disappointing.

My top 5 CP rides of 2007.. based on ridership:

1. Millennium Force: 31 (a lot of whoring.. 6-7 times 3 days at closing helped that total)

2. Maverick: 30 (3rd train ever.. plus a few ERT's helped that puppy out)

3. Magnum XL-200: 24

4. Top Thrill Dragster: 21

5. Wicked Twister: 15

For the most part, i'm not much of a ride whore. I usually go around the rides, enjoying each ride as much as I can and at times I go 3-4 times.

For 19 visits, thats not a bad total.

Oh man PB-reader, I went to CP as many times as you rode Raptor this year. :) But surprisingly my count is a little low as there were several days where I went for the atmosphere and rode Magnum or WT once. Good times.
