Music played at main gate

I went to the park Sunday (6-18) and heard a catchy song (I think is was a Gwen Stefani song, as it sounded like her voice) at the main gate. I was wondering if anyone knew what it was called. I had it going in my head for awhile, then forgot it later so now I can't search it.

The park should partner up with a jukebox manufacturer like Rowe and incorporate their jukebox app into the CP app. Allowing people to play the songs they want in whatever area of the park you may be in (from a select list of acceptable park music of course). Could be a great new revenue stream for the park, considering a lot of kids would request the pop stuff already played and many of the same requests paying for a song that was already being played anyway. And like jukebox apps you can pay extra to move your song up the playlist.

Tony, if you're reading feel free to pitch this idea if it's not already been done😀

(edited for GL2CPs comment below: they could also add the jukebox features to the touchscreen signs that are appearing throughout the park and in queue lines utilizing the now virtually worthless FunTV). ((I also will never battle for CP.))

That wouldn't be a terrible idea. Although it is strange to me the idea of being on the phone at the park. I only carry it if I want to use it for pictures but I usually just bring my camera for that. I, unfortunately, will never Battle for cedar point

Not this one, but thanks anyway. It was slower beat.

It should be noted that the current park soundtrack has only been around for a week or so; prior to that, this season they had introduced a (shall we say) "interesting" soundtrack that took every single track played and used a DJ-remixed high tempo version of that song, very similar to the kind of soundtracks played at marathons. For some songs it turned out OK, but for others (like "Take Me to Church" by Hozier!) it was an abomination; on the whole, it was pretty bad. Luckily, they dropped that soundtrack and went for the fantastic "90's, 00's, and today" upbeat hits soundtrack heard in the park currently. (Any soundtrack that plays Franz Ferdinand and Donna Summer gets an A+ in my book!) Not sure what song you heard, but considering the upbeat nature of the soundtrack, the heavier bias towards the 90's-00's era, and Gwen Stefani's discography, try "The Sweet Escape," "Rich Girl," "Cool," or possibly No Doubt's "Hey Baby," "Hella Good," or "Underneath It All."

Staying at the park last Sunday-Thursday, however being in the main park mostly late afternoon to the evenings each day (it was 95-102 real feel), the evening soundtrack sounded the same format as last year. Hi-tempo dance remix with uptempo modern rock, this is probably designed to keep people energized and moving as the day progresses and people tire. Also, the park average age probably trends younger in the evenings as well which would fit that demographic.

That jukebox idea is a very bad idea

Because someone like me will blare Tom Jones-What's New Pussycat for an hour straight just to catch reactions haha.

For the best reaction, you have to go for this:

Lol! My parents let us stay up late to watch Tiny Tim and Miss Vickie get married on the Tonite show. Good times!

I don't guys, these vinyl toting hipster kids might have the last laugh. Sometimes can't figure them out. I fully expect bag phones to make a comeback soon probably with a rotary dial. XD

Not any of those songs, I own all the ones listed. It played in the afternoon, it didn't appear to be a mix. The singing sounded like Gwen, but I could be wrong. I listened to all her songs, even older ones. Haven't found it. I guess I have to go to the park, wait for it to play, then write it down, I wish my memory was better....hehehe

Try recording a bit of it with your phone if possible. My wife has worked in the industry for 25 years and is really good at that stuff so between her and Bootymix96 we can probably figure it out.

To clarify, the DJ remixed soundtrack that was in place during May has now been totally removed; all of the songs in the currently-playing replacement soundtrack, while still mainly upbeat and Top 40-oriented, are all played in their original versions. Also, this replacement soundtrack is distinct from both the DJ soundtrack and last year's soundtrack in the proportions of song eras. The DJ soundtrack and last year's soundtrack both consisted almost entirely of modern songs released in the last 5 years or so (ballpark estimate is probably 90-95%), with very few 90's and 00's songs played (the other 5-10%). In stark contrast, from what I've heard so far, the new replacement soundtrack is way more heavily biased towards the 90's and 00's (probably 80-85%), with the rest being modern hits (15-20%). In any case, IMO the new replacement soundtrack is nothing short of fantastic, and it fits the park very well, much like CP Shores' beachy/summer-hits soundtrack.

See I like that song because of Insidious. That was such a neat element that they took an actual song and it worked in a thriller.

That video though, guys just straight up weird haha.

My best friend has an app on her phone that will identify most music it hears I think it's called Shazzam or something similar. Not sure if it would be able to filter out the background noise of the park though.

Tom Jones and Tiny Tim? Bring it on...

When I first heard this song, I thought it was Gwen Stefani. Maybe this?

I too like John Mulaney :) Easily one of my favorite comedy bits.
