When I was at CP on the 13th I noticed the "Baby I'm Ready to Go" audio was kind of messed up and it was stopping in the middle and then playing and it kept doing that. It got rather annoying. Anyone else notice this?
That's due to the mic the ride hosts wears when giving out spiels. Every time they speak, it interrupts the audio so they can speak without talking over the music. It's very sensitive so sometimes it'll do it if the slightest breath or stray wind that hits the mic.

It's a CD. It plays every couple minutes. And, like I said, it'll cut out when the op talks. Of course there's always a good chance it could be scratched.

Of course the over worked blown speakers don't help either. Thursday for ride night they were sounding horrible.

Yeah, they we're having troubles with it thursday. Not surprised though. It sucks compared to Millenniums new ones.:)

There is a mute button on the microphone pack, if you push it before or after your spiel the music will go uninterrupted. But, yeah just breathing can make the music stop. It's not a CD it's an MP3 card in the electrical room timed to play on interval, if you're dispatching on interval it should play right before the 2nd train launches. It has gotten corrupted before, and broke, the speakers also get blown out easily. The thing is the ride cannot operate without spiels, which means the speakers it's law, but if the speakers cannot be repaired you end up in a situation like last year where they spieled with a Bullhorn.
UpsideDown! :-)
Yea they did that on Maverick when her speakers were messed up at the beginning of this season.

Is it really that hard to run speakers? They can launch a multi-ton train 420 feet in the air, but they can not work the park's speakers right...
Let's Get Weird.
It's Cedar Fair remember. They don't do well with theming.

Many parks have trouble with up keep on there speakers, like with KI under Paramount, I can remember them only putting in one speaker for the Drop Zone line, and then turning up the volume to max.
You would think replacing a speaker would be easy, but some parks like CP has trouble with it.

What does a speaker have to do with themeing aside from mood music?:)

My post was made entirely out of sarcasm. I love the fact that Cedar Fair recently has done a much better job with theming: TTD, Maverick, Diamondback.
