Music around CP

What song is playing in Wicked Twister's station...it's just like an intro..and I can't put my finger on it.

The song is "The Winner" by The Crystal Method. you may have heard this song before used in the popular PlayStation 2 game FreQuency, or in several movie trailers. this thread should have been placed in the Wicked Twister section of Guide to the Point, and shame on you for not doing so.

Oh Gawd, the music around the park is so cheesy and annoying. But I guess there is not much the park can do because the music has to be appropriate for everyone.

Little secret here:

Sit at the corner table just outside of the Ice Cream Parlor back by the shooting gallery. Listen to the music, and then tell me how many songs are played. Bet you can't tell how many..;)

Shania Twain seems to be a popular choice around the park, but it seems to be mainly in Frontier Town.

I also noticed weird remixes of dumb songs back there. I can't think of them now but I know I heard them. They also seem to play the first 30 seconds of a song and then switch to another.

As far as I can tell, the music is on an approximate 3 hour loop, so in the average day it would be played 4 times. Now let's say that on an average day I hear it two of those times. I've worked about 100 days or so from May-now. That would put me at 200 times having heard Funkytown. And people wonder why we ride hosts get a little cranky sometimes? :)

I think that every year they should play a new variety of songs. I'd rather get annoyed by the same 5 songs for one season than the same 5 songs for many years. There are so many songs out there; it's not hard to find family-appropriate songs. I do like the MF music, though--in line and the station music.

By the way, where can you download station music onto a CD? Sorry, this was probably asked a lot in the past...

I know how many songs they play in FrontierTown and Trail starting in July (they switch the music at the end of June or beginning of July). Ready for this? They play 61 different songs, and three are repeated, for a total of 64 songs on the loop. I won't go into how I found that out because it will disgrace my image as a sane individual.

While at Dorney Park last week, a Cedar Fair park of course, it was nice to hear different music. I would love to hear some more variety and non-repeats.

I like the idea of a Cedar Point radio to keep the whole park informed and entertained.

Really? Wow, thats uh, interesting. Last time I sat there, the first 60 seconds of a song was played at least 10 times...over and over...

Neo, sometimes the CD or whatever they use to play the music gets stuck. I heard that happen every so often over the summer. It's kind of funny, but after a while of hearing the same lyric over and over and over and over, you get a bit annoyed!

I've always wondered the same, ever since i was a little tike they've played that song non-stop, but what would CP be without it? You could probably walk to cp in the off-season and stil hear it playing.
