Music?

Hey there. I remembered a topic way back when that talked about what people thought/wanted the station music to be. So, since its open now, anybody know what the music is? I hope its not techno-ish. Not that I dislike techno music as much as some other stuff, just I think we get enuff from WT. Anyway, thats about all I wanted to know.

I heard it was "hot rod hits" type music (little deuce coupe, the little old lady from pacadina & others)

Yes there is station music for Dragster. The song is
"Ready to Go" by the Republica. ;)

It's Republica, not Republic. It's the US mix which isn't as good as the UK original. Americans and their damn guitars. They were fun to see in concert, and it's a damn shame they never followed up with any success.

A little OT but I was happy to hear "Perfect Day" playing at the main gate. After watching the video on Cedarpoint.com, hearing the song at the park really brought a smile to my face.

The actual station music is indeed "Ready To Go" by Republica, but I also really liked the music that they played in line. It included, but was not limited to, "A Little Less Conversation" (Elvis), "Magic Carpet Ride" (not sure if it's the remix or original), the Matrix Lobby Fight music, "I Can't Drive 55" (Sammy Hagar), and the whole "Ready To Go". I know I am missing a few, anyone know which ones?

The song from the Matrix is SpyBreak! by Propellerheads. And I believe, but am not positive, that it was a remix of Magic Carpet Ride done by The Crystal Method.

I liked MF's selection too, raptor's was the best i herd in my 13 minute wait to ride. -CCR, jimmy eat world, and something else decent, but i forget ;)

Maybe TTD should get BIG screen T.V's and show real Top-FUEL action! ..among other things. i.e. badnitrus animation. saftey instructions. ride limitation information. TTD personal stories. etc... and maybe upgrade to better quality speakers for the que area (like MF's) and let me be DJ! ..I'll keep it and all requests clean. promise. :)

What about Pink Cadillac by Aretha? I can't count how many times they played that one.

"I Can't Drive 55" by Sammy Hagar...that fit the ride perfectly during Opening Day, with the long waits and the trains were doing 125 MPH ("So write me up for 125..."). And it's my #1 favorite car-related song!

That is a cool song, but their music loop and speaker setup needs a little work. I heard the same things over about three times each time in line and that included the time (probably 2 hours) that I couldn't hear anything due to lack of speakers in the middle of the queue. Only places you could hear was at the beginning of the queue and up toward the station. That and the "Sunday Sunday Sunday" guy seemed to come on somewhat randomly.

Republica did follow up their first CD with thier second release, Speed Ballads. It had fair success in the UK but is very hard to find here in the states (legally, that is)! ;-) Saffron, the lead singer has been working with such techno groups as Deepsky and Junkie XL as well as her own new group Swarm. I'm glad CP went with some great music for the station. It doesn't hurt also that Saffron is just so &*%^ hot! I know i'm ready to go!
