Muffleheads & Mayflies

I seem to remember that these little buggers take over the Point around the first week of June. Have they hit in full force yet this year or are they late due to the cool spring?

I hope they are gone by June 27-29...:)

There is an artical on this site somewhere about the mayflies and muffleheads, but I cant seem to find it.
Yeah, I have read it. Excellent article. Just wondered how things were THIS year.

I really dislike those bugs. They get in my mouth, my drinks, and my food. They are so annoying. So I try and steer clear of the days when they are at their peak. Though, I notice they only really stay in the shade, which is minimal in Cedar Point.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

Not that it's any help, but the Mayflies (or Fish Flies as they're called around here) have begun to appear in my neck of the woods (Coastal Metro Detroit). Saw them earlier this evening, which came as a huge surprise to me seeing that the temperature seems to be quite a bit below the average.

Living by Lake St. Clair, I've come to tolerate and even welcome the buggers. Large amounts of fish flies means that the lake water is clean. Also, they're a sure sign that summer is here :)

Now about those circadas.... hmm...

They were light this Tuesday when I was there. I took a front seat Dragster ride at closing and rode with my shirt covering all of my face but my eyes. There were a few on the shirt. I have yet to see the "clouds" of them this year, maybe next week.
