I saw Mr. Kinzel walking alone by the new 3 point shootaround in Frontiertown. Went up and congratulated him on the new 5 year contract, and mentioned the fantastic weather for opening day. He agreed, but was really bummed about Maverick!!! He thanked me for coming out to the park and was very gracious. I hope all who see him will congratulate him for the great coaster he brought to Cedar Point, and let him know we're behind him. Any one else see or talk to him?

I didn't see him on opening day yesterday, but I saw him several times last year out walking the midways. I spoke to him once a couple of years ago and he was very nice to talk to. I am glad he will be around at least a few more years. I give him most of the credit for making CP what it is today.
Hehe I have a picture somewhere of me and two of my friends with Mr. Kinzel at Big Bash. I think he had on one of those goofy top hats. :) Good times.
I saw him as I was going by Skyhawk. But since he was going incognito (glasses, head down, CP jacket over his tie and the name tag not visable) I didnt say anything. *** Edited 5/14/2007 12:07:18 AM UTC by Touchdown***
I ran into Dick at Kings Island's opening day, and as usual, he's very friendly to approach. I gave him thanks for the acquisition, saying that the park was already looking nicer, and tha met him closing day 2005 after the CoasterBuzz Podcast.
I also was behind Kinzel and his management team that day was they walked over to Flight of Fear and Firehawk under construction. No wonder the "Fort Cooper Press Area" sign at the FOF entrance was changed.
MOO!!!
I saw him in the operating booth for Dragster when they were having so much trouble with it that morning.
I saw him going between Chick fil A and Hitchin Post around 11. I was about to comment on how beautiful Maverick turned out and how sad it was that they couldnt open it on time because of the heartline.....but my friend was being impatient and wanted to get to Millennium.

I saw him by the Maverick Shop and talked to him about the MAVERICK. I told him I won't be around the #1, #2, #3, #4, and the 3rd week of June. He said it could be later or you could have a chance of #5, #6, #7, #8, (th or the 10th of June. He remembered me from a friend that used to work at the POINT, and we talked for a long time too about a few other things too.
I didn't see Kinzel, but did run into Hildebrandt and chatted for a minute. He said he hoped Mav would be open "in a couple of weeks" and that "it's going to be a great ride."
He sounded like he meant it...
He stopped and said hello to us in the Friday's in Breakers Friday evening, day before opening day.
He was with his wife.
Then he tried to cut the line in Chick-fil-a but Josh and I put a stop to that quickly. ;)
