Moveable Locker Rentals

During our last visit to Silver Dollar City this summer, we saw they had a new locker system in place. I can't remember the cost, wasn't much, and was set-up for credit cards. Your locker rental could be moved to different locations in the park with no additional fees. This came in handy when we decided to do the water rides. We rented a locker near one water ride. When we got off, got stuff out of locker and went to lockers near the other ride and stored stuff in it.

When you rent one, you use a code. Then when you retrieve your stuff out of it, it will ask you if you are moving it or closing it for the day. Once you get to another location, use the code and not get charged extra. Love the idea. Would like to see more parks try this as loose article policies are getting more strict. I've always hated the idea of paying each time you have to get inside a locker. Using a locker is not something I need all the time due to costs.

Just curious what thoughts were from anyone on here?

We never use lockers. But I find more and more often that if you make it painless and reasonably inexpensive, I'm more than willing to part with some money for an added convenience. That system seems like exactly that.

Do you recall how much it cost?

According to their website, the lockers are $3 per day.

There's no way they would be that cheap at CP. And doesn't CP have an all-day locker rental, but you can only use the lockers at the front of the park?

Well, for $3/day, I would certainly use them at CP. And that's $3 dollars a day that they're not currently getting from me.

But yeah, agreed that they'd never offer them for that price at CP.

Thabto - In the park, I think the ones at front are only All-Day rentals. I believe the ones in Soak City are same.

We rarely use them. When we do, it's because we are going on water rides and want to keep shoes & socks dry along with any valuables. Also, if stepson is with us, we tend to take in a pack with items since he is special needs.

Nowadays, with the parks offering great deals on the souvenir cups, more guests are getting them. I know we did at Frontier City & Worlds of Fun this summer. I personally hate lugging them around. But with the free refills that day and 99 cents rest of season, it is hard to pass up.

$3 sounds about right for the ones at SDC. It was in August, so memory is little foggy.
