Around My school people are saying that on TTD there are Motion Sensors so they can tell if you put your hands up. i wanted to know if its true. also kids are saying if you put your hands up on the launch it could break your arms. i don't think that is true because i see people put their hands up all the time. i was just wondering if these things were true.

There are no motion sensors on Dragster. When you keep hearing "arms down" over and over again it is the ride op pressing the button untill the person listens. And no you cannot break your arms on Dragster.
None of that's true. Cedar Point doesn't want us to put up our hands for our safety. Breaking your arms is very unlikely. *** Edited 5/21/2005 2:14:58 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

I don't ever put my hands up on the launch, beause I want to enjoy and feel the rush and power of the launch. And then I try to make out how fast we are going on the speed sign, never can ;).
Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
Guess what on my last launch on TTD I was in the second row and I actually say "my speed" I couldnt believe it. It took me 31 launches to finally see it. FYI we went 121

Really? I thought it was always a glitch in the auto spiel when it would say "Arms Down" ten times in a row.
Nope, not a glitch. The Christmas tree has eyes and artificial intelligence and will say "hands down" when it sees people with their hands up. IT KNOWS AND SEES ALL. :)

I saw it go 127 this weekend. Wonder if it went that fast when I was on it. Seemed like it had no problem getting over the hill.

I've only been on it once and I kept my arms down for the launch. Once we started to head down the coat that I was wearing decided to be an ass, it wasn't zipped all the way to the top so the top left side of it flapped in the wind and the little metal part of the zipper continually whipped my lip. I tried to hold it down but I also wanted to have my hands up for the second camera. By the end of the ride my upper lip was so swollen.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Do they have a camera by the "Pre-Stage" so they can see if the arms are up? Or are they able to see from the station some how?

They can see from the station. Breaking your arms is bery unlikely but the first time i rode it i threw my arms out to the side and they whipped back around the ends of the seat. It hurt quite a bit but nothing serious.
There are two sections in the operators control panal room (don't quite know you'd call it). One section allows operators to view the station and over view when to dispatch the trains out of the station. The other side faces out toward the tower. This allows the operator to clear the train for launch.
