Most consecutive days at CP

JW Addington's avatar
Being that my wife and i are leaving on Wed (7th) and coming back on Mon (12th) for a total of 6 days and 5 nights. What is the most consecutive days that you guys have spent at the park? Are we the only nuts to stay that long? :) LOL!

We are in total withdrawal right now, haven't been there since this same week last year. I'm just hoping that we are staying long enough to get us by till Halloweekends in Oct, j/k. Should be plenty to get us by. We are far from being in a rush when we go. We enjoy taking in all of what the park has to offer, visiting Soak City also and even just walking around the park, soaking in all of the atmosphere and smells that the park has to offer, all the good smells anyways LOL!

That's a long time to be at the point. I would think the best way to go if youa re spending that much time is to do the park, spend a day at the water park, and take your time.

There is a lot to do, but 6 consecutive days is a lot.

When I go to WDW I get ready to come home after a few days of it.

Hopefully you will get your fill and still have the passion for the park.

After your trip you should fill us in on how it went.

HAVE FUN!

I've only done 2 consecutive days. Planning on 3 during Halloweekends (Columbus day weekend). If you burn out, you can always take a tour of the nearby islands on one of the jetboat excursions for a day. Make sure to take advantage of Freeway during your visit, and have a great time!

I know its a long time, but we enjoy every minute of it. We are gonna break it up with Soak City. I don't think i could ever get bored of CP, there is just too much to do. If i lived closer i would break the days up a little more, but i live 3 1/2 boring hours away from the Po!nt so i just stay a long time :) plus driving all the time at work doesn't help, less highway time the better :). We did the same thing last year and had a GREAT! time. It feels great to not have to rush everything, and to be able to enjoy everything else the park has to offer.

Yes, i very much intend to take advantage of freeway and the early entry. Is Raptor up automatically now with MF and WT for early ERT? Let me know if i have this right, Sun - Fri i can enter at 9am and Sat at 8:30am? My brother just got back yesterday and he said they weren't doing the free water thing at the concessions. Is that true? Bummer, if so. But there are alot of watering holes (lol) around the park. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

Holy smokes! If I was only 3.5 hours away, I'd be there every other weekend or so! :) I am almost 8 boring hours from CP, but my school is under 5 hours away, so I'm planning a couple trips during the weekends. Anyway, I think I'd be burned from the park itself after about 3 days, but if you're going to do Soak City and the islands, you should have no trouble staying entertained for six days. I usually find myself running around like a madman riding coasters when I am there, but if you take a more liesurely pace, you won't burn out as fast! :)

As far as the ERT, last I heard, it was usually Raptor opening up early with MF, and not WT. I guess they need every last second to do routine weldi, errrr, I mean maintenance on WT. Your gate times sound right for this time of season. 9AM for resort guests, 9:30 for regular and a half an hour earlier on Saturday. You can always check CP's website to be sure though. As far as I know you can still get free cups of ice water from any concession stand. Your buddy might have been talking about the fact that they aren't allowing any outside food, including water, into the park this season. They'll catch some flack from me if they stop the free ice water though. :) The best drinking fountain in the park is located in the park operations office! :) The one over by DT just isn't what it used to be.

This year my husband and I spent 7 great days at the park. It was fantastic, we never got bored and never asked each other what we want to do because we knew we wanted to spend every hour at the park. We live 5 hours away and get to the Point about 4 or 5 times a year, our first visit each year is our Anniversary trip and we usually stay for 5 days, but this year we pushed it to 7 days and we would have stayed longer if were independently wealthy and didn't hold full time jobs!

Each year we think that we'll get to visit the islands or ANYTHING else but we don't, it's just ride - ride - ride. There is nothing like having the ride ops say to you after three days, "how long are you guys here?". Cedar Point is the best and only amusement park we visit. Can't wait for our next visit.

Well my first trip up there I will be there for most of one day and all of the next. So Twisted Wicker isn't open for the people that stay at the resorts at 9:30 anymore? Oh well, I can take out Millie (once or twice) and get in line for Raptor in the early morning. Shouldn't be to bad.

LETS RIDE, you and your husband sound just like my wife and i. Where do you usually stay? Once we park our car in the Breakers lot, we don't touch it until we check out. You can't beat being able to come and go out of the park anytime you want, to a nice air conditioned room, a room full of food and drinks, and a nice relaxing bed, pool, whirlpool, lake etc. Some of my friends and even family think we are nuts for staying as long as we are, but thats what we like to do. Does anyone question you and your husband for spending so many days at CP? This vacation is also a little part of a honeymoon that we never took after we were married almost 8 months ago. I can almost "FEEL THE FUN" :)

Lots of people stay for a week or so. When you stay at one of the hotels on the penninsula, you're not just at an amusement park, you're at a resort. I could stay for a week and just relax by the pool or beach, and take in the CP ambiance. The resort hotels make for a great vacation.

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

I e-mailed CP about the water thing and per Sandra Jenkins, Information Specialist:

Cups of ice water are available upon request at any food concession stand, not at the wagons. Cups of ice are never given out. Bottled water is allowed inside the park.

Thanks Sandy, i thought my brother was wrong about the free ice water, but he is the type of person that is never wrong ;) (so to speak). I fought him about it for 10 seconds then said "that sucks" it was a lost cause lol.

Pete, you are 150% correct about the resorts, its all about relaxing. I mean, if i wanted to just ride the coasters, i'd stay for only 2 days, but this is a vacation to get away from the grind. Just been stressed alot lately and 2 days wasn't going to cut it. I'm on vacation for 10 days and at CP for 6 of those days. Just 2 more days till i'm reunited with my mill :).

Oh my goodness, they backed off on the bottled water thing??? Or is someone just confused? :) Hopefully this is true! :)

JW ADDINGTON, we used to stay at the Breakers but with the large price increase we have opted for the Breakers Express. We also go in May when the hours are shorter.

All co-workers think we are insane being that we are 46 and 52 years YOUNG and still go to amusement parks. But actually the coasters keep us at least thinking we are young. Congrats on your recent marriage - we have 28 years under our belts.
