So just wanted to inform you all right after entering into Ohio I-75 closes off and makes you get off on some highway called 280, so not sure how some will get to the turnpike. Luckily we were just drving down to Dayton.
Yeah. I-280 meets up with I-80/90, aka thar Ohio Turnpike. If you choose to go that way, you still can. :)
So does 280 lead to route 2? And was 280 the thing that was closed off for about a year or so?
I-280 does lead to OH-2, which leads to OH-4 or a few other routes.
There was a bridge on I-280 which was closed for awhile, I believe.
Yeah, that's the normal route for most Detroit/Mich drivers.....at least I think it is.:)
I take Rt.2 every trip so as to avoid the tolls. In fact, I havn't taken the turnpike in years.
Though I do have a bit of directional news for people coming down 75 north from Detroit. Another route (if you havn't already found out about it)is to get off 75 before 96 onto Fisher Fwy then turn left on Rosa Parks Blvd. Then you take Rosa Parks Blvd and go right on fort street. Then you take that past the bridge, and take a designated side street to get back on 75 (Clark street is one of them). It's shorter than taking 94 to Southfield/m-39, then back to 75.

On a semi-related note, I'd like to note that construction on SR-2 east of the park is still under construction in both direction for a good length. I always dreaded that drive last season while they were working as the speed limit was down to 55 for a good 10 miles anyway. I was looking forward to coming to training Saturday without the construction but wouldn't you know it, they just moved the construction west a few miles.
