More parts shipped...

As of 1 PM (EST) more parts for the new slingshot arrived on Point. They were mostly large beams that looked like they were what will hold the cords for the slingshot. There were two or three large trucks holding the parts.

Anybody have any idea when The Point will make public announcement of this new attraction? People I've talked to think I'm rumor-slicing.

A huge Announcement might not happen..They already sunk many of there ad dollars into getting people to the park in general with the HOLD ON campaign..When they arrive on point they will see it. I don't see the need to advertise a attraction that will cost an additional fee to be honest.

However I can see a smaller announcement being made locally or something like that but I wouldn't be surprised to not see anything big.

Actually there are enough people that do know that could make the announcement. There won't be any major announcement. They will probably just send out a normal press release like they do with everything else.

Also today the GIANT CRANE arrived and was assembled in the Planning & Design Parking lot. And they also brought in Gas Powered Lighting, so I am guessing most construction will be done while we are sleeping.

Yes.. the raising of the towers will happen at night. A few reasons for this.

#1. Less traffic to deal with. You'll have the occasional Breakers guest, ride maint. trucks, and maybe the occasional Gold dorm resident.

#2.. and probably the biggest reason. Safety. No general public around tends to lead to alot safer working conditions. If there was to be an incident and they were to lose control of a tower while erecting it, they would generally be limited to property damage and not be puttin gthe safety of the public in Challenge Park or Soak City at risk.
