Monty Jasper on Dragster

I thought that Wicked Twister hit 50 mph in 2 seconds, not 4...that would expain the difference in launch intensities.

I found the press release for WT and it said 2.5 seconds. Still, 0-50 in 2.5 does not sound like more G's than 0-120 in less than 4 seconds. But I have not done any math.

pagoona, There will actually be two on-ride photo cameras! Possibly some before/after shot or something?

Could this be that lighting test? (Here's another view)

No one asked about the on-ride photos. But Monty did say we will be cresting the tophat at around 5-15MPH.

I wouldn't count on the ability to "pick" which train you're gonna be on.

Good point RGB. I keep forgetting about the seat assigning. But if I'm one of the first to choose then I'm gonna shoot for the second train.

Does anybody know if I'll be able to choose which seat I want when I use my front of the line pass that I got from the Northcoast Christmas party?

Most likely not. I have heard that they wont allow you to use them because it is opening day, and they just want to make sure that everyone that wants to get on will be able to ride.
Maybe in a couple weeks after opening day they will allow you to use the front of the line pass.
Well that looks like the lighting test Majin Heero. I think it's a little bit plain, but perhaps it looks better when you're actually there.

If there's bugs on your shirt, you had a good ride.

If they made it more wild with other colors the Christmas tree might not show up as much. I think with the lights we saw on it that one night plus the christmas tree it will look pretty dang cool.

Is there any documented proof that Monty Jasper made that quote. if so, where can I find it. 5-15 MPH seems slow to me, that's why I ask.

If you crest that thing any faster, you won't live to tell about it. ;-)

John, as the original post states, there was a group of enthusiasts that talked to Monty. That means take their word for it...it won't be on the web anywhere else.

I also thought about a couple of other things that were said. There had been a thread here asking about wearing glasses. Bill said at this time they thought glasses with the strap would be ok. Again, it was at this time since tests still need to be done. Also Monty had mentioned that "Accelerator" was indeed the test model for TTD.
John Blount: Yes Monty did say 5-15mph on the top crest. I was there, I heard it too. Why would Jeff lie???

The ride has several hundred switches and censors on it, the most complex in the park.

Is that a Freudian slip there, Jeff?? :)

My favorite quote by Monty was "at 5-15mph you will be on the feather edge of making it over the top or rolling back down the hill"!

Thanks for confirming for me. I never doubted anybody, I just wanted positive proof. It wasn't mentioned in Jeff's post that started this thread. that's why I questioned it in the first place.
