Monsters Rock Live

1) If you saw Monsters Rock Live. . .what did you think of it?

2) If you didn't see Monsters Rock Live. . .why not!?

For real. This is an excellent show. I went 'opening night' and then several times after that as my schedule permitted.

The female saxaphonist is absolutely amazing. Just watching her perform is enough. But everyone in the cast is so good, and the music selections are great!

It was fun to watch the transition from America Rocks! To Monsters Rock Live!

They do an excellent job!

I saw this show and also America Rocks. Out of all the shows showing for Halloweekends I would say this one rates #2. Aaron Radatz being the number 1 must see.

This show is awesome. Very good song selection, awesome singers and a well put together show. The only draw back was the face make up makes it so you can't really tell what the singers look like. But I guess thats part of the whole Halloweekends theme. Great Show!

The female Sax player is very talented. My favorite is the Vampire Girl. Hot Stuff!

I agree with 'LIVE ENTERTAINMENT' this is definetly a must see.

Glad to see some of the performers back for another year. I have a weird crush of sorts on the girl with the red wig.

The performers are mostly above average, with special props to the band.

I've got two problems with the show though. First off, "Wanted Dead or Alive" needs two guitars. It also needs rock singers, or the dudes need to sing it more like rock singers. It just doesn't sound right.

The second problem I have, and it's not the fault of the performers, is that it's mostly the same tired old arrangement of songs they've been doing year after year. I realize that the 90's didn't cut as many "friendly" songs (I doubt we'll ever see any Nirvana or Pearl Jam), but there is more out there and they need to explore some new ideas.

In fact, the one thing the 90's did succeed in giving us was "alternative rock." Now you know it as the stuff they play on adult contemporary radio stations. Weird how that all came full circle.

I don't see them getting the awards at IAAPA this year if it's the same judges from last year. They've already given awards to that show.

What time does the water show start?

I thought the show was great! The female sax player is my suite mate, so we always talk about driving up to CP and her show and stuff. She is very talented! I haven't seen any of the other shows, but maybe I'll catch a few this last weekend.

I have seen it many times and I love it. Love the music they play, hot girls, and great guitars.

One thing I dislike about the show, is the same songs that were played in the America Rocks show this year. Although I love "Walk This Way", and "Rock and Roll all Night", I've seen them enough in the America Rocks show.

I enjoyed Monsters Rock Live, as did my family (we've seen it 4 or 5 times). Kudos to Jason for the costume changes he does during each and every show - I get tired just watching! Also, excellent musicianship across the board! The energy level is definitely up this year, and the musicians and singers (overall) are as good as I can remember (been going to the point for 36 years now). In fact, the talent across the board in ALL shows was as good as I can remember - GREAT JOB in recruiting some outstanding people.

My biggest beef was that several of the (regular season) shows didn't change much from last year. Snoopy Rocks on Ice was (exactly?) the same. Ditto for Heart of Rock and Roll (one song different?) America Rocks had a good portion of last year's show dropped in without change, etc. You think it would be pretty easy to change the Camp Snoopy show? Guess again.

PLEASE, Cedar Point, change ALL of the shows for 2004! I'm sure the performers are as tired of the same routines as we are... (Having said that, I thought the creativity shown in the various Halloweekends shows was pretty good! Let's transfer that same creativity into next year's "regular season" lineup!)

Hey, I heard a rumor that Millennium Force is sinking...

Jeff, you'd be jealous. . .Friday night I saw MRL. . .and I sat all the way to the right, closest to the bar. . .WELL! Guess who should come up behind me and wrap her boa around my neck?! Red haired girl!

Although personally I would have enjoyed Frankenst----WHAT! I didn't say that. ;)

I saw it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I saw it with Avalanche Sam and a friend who doesn't post here, Mike, like two weeks ago. We saw it the first day they were filming the thing. I had so much fun, the rest of the night I was without a voice almost literally. I was speaking at a whisper and both of them can back me up on that. I thought it was a very excellent show.
I really enjoyed the show, the girl on sax was great. My only complaint was that I thought that the total cast was a little too big.

The girl with the red hair unfortunately has a very large rock on her finger, so I'm guessing she wouldn't be up for threesome action in cottage 8 last weekend. ;) Not only that, but she had family at the show, and you know, that makes her more like a real person than someone you can objectify. Growing up and being more mature can suck.

After seeing the show again, Steph pointed out to me that the show has a history of having overly male casts. The band has too many testicles, which is perhaps why the cute sax player stood out so much this year. I don't mean to get all girl power (and I don't think Steph did either), but there are women who play drums, guitars, keyboards and such, aren't there? It just seems so 1940's housewifish that the band is all male. Sax kitten... step in the right direction.

I saw Monsters Rock Live for the first time this year and really enjoyed watching those talented performers. The Snoopy Rocks on Ice show is great too, but PLEASE change it for 2004. I heard many people walking out of the theatre saying they had hoped this season's show would have had at least one new song or skit.

Jeff- I agree with you on there needs to be a few more girls on the instruments!! I went to highschool with this girl who was AMAZING on the drums. The sax kitty actually didn't start out at the show this year! This other male kid I go to school with played the show all last season and started it this season, but then he was moved to the Heart of Rock and Roll. I guess he told Live E that he knew a great sax player to hire, and they hired her! My point is, they almost had ever more testosterone in that cast, but I'm glad that they gave her the job! She's awesome! :)

Everyone else complaining about the shows, I've heard from a few different sources that next year will have two new stage shows and a revamped Snoopy show on ice. Starstruck will still stay. It will be exciting to get some new shows. I think one is going to be country though...I'm not sure how I feel about that! ;)
